With regret my banana's up for sale:
The bikes always been garaged (by myself and previous owners), as a result has little corrosion which is rare for SVs! Its covered barely any miles (half of which have been done by me) mileage at about 12,500. Bike handles like an absolute dream (I've upgraded the suspension and fitted renthals) it really is effortless to drop into nice tight corners - and as a result I've never had too much of an issue keeping up with more powerful bikes.
Anyway less blab more bullet points:
Good bits
12.5k miles
Hagon progressive springs and renewed uprated oil installed in the forks (unbelievable difference! This also improves braking considerably)
Brand new D.I.D Gold X ring heavy duty chain and steel sprockets (done about 500 miles) cost about £100 will do you for many thousands of miles!
Fully serviced (including valve clearances, new sparkplugs, new oil and oil filter, new airfilter etc.etc.)
Leo Vinci Stainless Full Race System, this sounds awesome one of the best I've heard these cost a fair few hundred pounds new think this was just over £400 IIRC. Debaffled will set off car alarms. Bit scrappy on the pipes (under the engine, few scratches etc) the front down pipe has been repaired (quoted £40 for a new one) but it works fine. It also has stainless studs to the engine which have been coated in copper grease and acf50.
Anodised renthals (nice and wide, I love the handling on this bike)
Goodridge braided hoses with stainless steel fittings fitted at the front these cost about £55
Good Tyres and brake pads. Front are EBC HH pads that have done maybe around 1000 (can't say I've kept track but they were fitted about 2 months ago). Rear have brand new HH pads that I've pretty much only just bedded in! (fitted 2 weeks ago.)
Mini LED arrow shaped indicators, look good, and are more noticeable than standard.
Tapered headbearings fitted (much more durable and hard wearing)
Best framesliders you can buy fitted (motosliders) forget how much they cost me think it was about £50
Rear Hugger
Fender Extender
Seat Cowl (cost £50 but has cracks in the paint work I was going to geth this resprayed - I even have the paint available)
Osram nightbreaker brighter headlight
Well maintenanced, oil kept at the right level, chain and cables kept lubed etc, full service history.
Brakes recently fully serviced; new seals etc.
Wiring loom inspected and each connector block checked for corrosion (none) and pins coated in anti corosion spray.
I also have a bellypan that I've repaired buyer can have, needs respraying though (also have the paint for this) was quoted around £30 for the seatcowl and the hugger to be sprayed.
Okay the bad bits:
The bike isn't pristine, it's been a good working bike and as a result has scratches here and there small one on the tank (about the width of a penny) and a couple of black marks on the tail plastics. The front wheel is black and the rear wheel is silver however this is barely noticeable (sounds suprising but no one ever seems to notice til I point it out). The bike has been down the road, I had an off in october '08 but all the damage has been repaired and I've done a good 5000 miles since without a trouble (apart from having to replace the reg rec for a brand new one a couple of months ago - not really a major issue). Since the off the radiator is still mishapen but works like before and does not leak. Also a bit of pitting at the bottom of the fork lowers.
Bearing in mind the bikes mileage and the fact it's had it's full 15k service (around £150 + £100s worth of DID chain & sprocks) 2 weeks ago I'm asking £1400 ONO
viewings welcome and all that
Oh and I'm on a restricted license so the bike is currently restricted by the carburettors. I can leave the restrictor kit in or remove it before sale depending on the buyers preference (no additional cost) I understand the restrictors are actually worth a fair bit of coin.
I also have a screen (can be seen on older pics, the standard chain guard etc., standard exhaust, think I have the grab rail too, pillion seat and other parts that have been removed in a box somewhere that the buyer can have their pick of.
Really will miss this bike...
pictures and anything else I've forgot to follow
