I'm now an excited gardener!

I registered on the Landshare (http://landshare.channel4.com/) website ages ago and it went live recently. I have managed to get a plot of land about one mile down the road! It's a whole field! So far, I'm the only one interested in it, so I have the run of it and first choice of which bit I can grow on.

The land is very overgrown, so a rotovator will be needed and it's next door to a farm, so plenty of muck is available!

I'll post some pics tomorrow.

Hehehehehe :D :D :D :D

Great idea from Hugh Fernswhittlestraws and the gang. I'd love to think i was ciommited enough to do this all year round but i know what a thoroughly lazy git i am so never got involved.

Good for you tho Pete. maybe you'll bring some homegrown stuff to next years AR for us all to enjoy ;)

So is this the new name for allotments, to make them sound more sexy?

Nah, it's what the pikeys do but they don't dig & delve.

It sounds hard work to me. OK when nice and sunny but not in winter. Reminds me of a Thomas Hardy novel, Tess of the d'Urbervilles I think 'oh how it rained when we worked at Flintcombe Ash and could not stand upon the hill, trimming swedes for the slicing mill. The wet washed through us, plash plash plash' They didn't have Goretex clothes in those days:p
