Just bought a new motherboard an AMD Sapphire 780G based one.

nowhere in the sales spec did it mention the extra 12V 8 pin requirement of eps 12v. so doh, how have to spend £50 on a compatible PSU.

No only noticed once I had unpacked it and installed it in the case.

TBH, I needed a new PSU as my old one did not support SATA devices and was a touch noisy. I compromised I would live with it for now. Just been forced to upgrade it earlier than planned.

Ahh fair enough, forgotten what I've put in mine. It was a 500w 'green' one from overclockers. I was pretty impressed.
