Very different, nice work.
Red bikes rule, dont listen to those 2, for they know nothing :)

that is wicked pal, looks to me a little like the new ducati streetfighter, especially in red, how easy/ or hard was it to fit a pointy engine on a curvy

+1 looks better tbh
which pyramid headlight is that, and are the lights any good?

Thanks!
Mounts are the same - but the trick is the FI. I clearanced and re-tig welded the left inner cross bar to create the room. Then chose to modify the 2g tank for the fuel pump.

It's an Acerbis Vision - the lights are terrible and I am working on a solution to remedy that.

That says it all really. These are some stunnign bikes on SVRider and if yours had made the banner then i'd take that in the same way as winning an oscar!
That is some serious work you've put into it Mr Nudist.
So when are you planning on bringing it to the UK for us all to see in the flesh...and can i be the first to say "can i have a go on your bike please mister?"
Thanks all!

I would love to bring the bike over and do some time but I have no clue how to go about doing something like that...

Shipping it over isnt THAT hard - look up your local freight companies.
It IS fairly expensive tho, and you will not believe it when it costs you 30 USD to fill it up :)
Not sure what you would do about insurance tho...
Spiderman
08-07-09, 11:58 AM
You could do it the mega boring and cheaper way and stick it in a container all the way here.
Or you could do it the fun way. Stick it on a container to the nearest European country and then ride it here and enjoy seeing some of europe too.
With a bike as unique as that you can be sure every biker you encounter will wanna chat to you about it tho, so you'll make plenty of friends on the way :)
I hear that - would take some mucho planning, but this could be fun!
Would I need an International license or plates?
if you do come over, paint it yellow, then i would buy it, to save you getting it home.
Spiderman

You'd need an internaltional licence but no plates. Good news would be that you could also chuck any parking tickets you get in the bin while you're away from home ;)

As long as you were not planning on being here long term you would be fine on your US plates, and your driving license would be fine for short term too, after all many of us Brits come to the US and hire cars/bikes etc - I rode a friends father-in-laws Goldwing and CB750 on my UK license and his insurance.
I dare say your insurer will have information about taking it abroad.
Another thing to remember, our "Highway" (we call them Motorways) speed limit is 70mph :)
Oh and we drive on the correct side fo the road and we have these things called roundabouts.

Good deal - I wonder if the insurance thing is just better to ask for forgiveness :)
We have roundabouts (and jug handles) - 70 sounds good, Id probably end up going slower to soak it all in.
Now that would be a hell of a holiday and a major write up too...
Definitely try and do it if you can. :D
First of all well done. You have made all my fabrication efforts on my bike seem childish so thanks you :) I'd really like to see more photos during the build if you've got any.
One question. Did you worry about the bike's ergonomics? I see you got a swingarm that, a seat another, rear subframe there... How did you get around designing the end result. You wouldn't want the bike difficult to ride etc. It's something which worries me if I had to do such a build myself. Just like to hear your way of how you tackled this.
The bike came out great by the way and love the way you made everything look so factory. Also noticed your work on the tank, how you fixed the dent and the gap to frame. Again, well done mate!

thats really cool! how did you get the FI to fit? was the engine from a later SV, or did you retain the curvy lump then graft on FI?

I did a lot of research/measurements/calculations, test fitting, building/rebuilding.... I made the dogbones, made the subframe etc...
Tank was a ton of work - but I am pretty happy with how it came out.

It's an 06 motor - I mentioned a bit back. I modified the left crossbar and re-tig welded it to clearance the throttle bodies. :D
just out of intrest,
how much money and time have you put into it

No one can deny we drive on the "RIGHT" side of the road. ;)

I'll give you my mother, all 3 of my sisters and my house for that motorcycle. That's FANTASTIC quite simply words cannot explain how nice, awesome, sexy, mean looking, work of engineering that motorcycle is.
If it's ever for sale I'll buy it off you. :D

Totally worth it, by far one of the best looking SV's I ever saw....
I love the irony, pointy bits looking better on a curvy, they should have stuck with the round tube frame.

That is the best looking streetfighter I've seen and the coolest SV(+R6,ZX6R,GSXR etc)
Wow! That is a beauty, and the fact you did all the work must make you feel good every time you see it. Inspires me to get out in the shed and bodge some more on mine.
I love the way everything flows in the bodywork. It's easy enough to lob on a seat/tail off another bike just because it looks good on the donor bike - but that attention to detail just makes it soooo perfect, like it was designed on paper til it was 'right' and then manufactured. Not an easy job, so 10/10 for your efforts mate!!!
The side-on pic shows what I'm waffling on about - the bottom corner of the tank meets with the lines of seat unit just right, and these intersect with the bellypan lines and those flow into the hugger. :smt007
Damn you, i want that look on mine now. lol.
Plus all those suspension and engine upgrades!

Thank you - that is what I enjoy most... When folks can actually see the details as well as the over flow and completeness. Thanks again man! :D

Took me about 4 weeks to build it - a couple more in initial fabrication, welding, measuring etc prior....

Thank you! Im always confused on peoples opinions on whether its a "streetfighter" or not. So I call it a modern cafe or a MotoGP inspired naked bike :)
