I love airports. The trick is not to get there too early. When we went to turkey, we got there just inside the 2 hours 'limit' by the time we had thrown the cases through, went through the over the top security (imho) had a mooch around duty free and had some breckkie, it was time to board!

Airports are ok if you go at a time when the shops are open. And if you dont get there too early. And if there arent any major delays.

Where you off to?

Quit the fags, then you won't have a problem. Take up drinking instead:D

Or just do both ;)

You're supposed to be giving them all your money. That's the whole point of getting people to check in 2 hours before their plane leaves, so you can go shopping and boost BAA profits.

You'll notice that when you come back utterly skint they whisk you out of the airport in a matter of minutes. That's how long it really takes to transport you and your luggage between the entrance and the plane....

BTW i'm ALWAYS that guy who gets on last. There is a good reason for this, why get into the scrum at the boarding gate, a scrum at the stairs and sit in the never spacious enough seat so early? The plane wont leave till i'm on it and they'll call me at least a couple of times before they go so i just saunter along, jog up the empty stairs (get filthy looks from most of the staff of course) take an available seat and watch them close the doors and go. Nice.

Much better than sitting in the cabin, listening to other peeps kids screaming and bickering etc, eh?

Why aren't you in the Wetherspoons upstairs, drinking pints?

If you're on business* there is a good reason for getting on early - so your bag is somewhere near you in the overhead bins. I got to a flight late once which was packed in like sardines and my bag ended up in the only available space right at the back. I had to let everyone off the plane before I could venture back there to retrieve it.

*I should point out I work for a cheapskate company that has NEVER once let me book business class :(
