So ive finally buclked and after 6mths with the sv650 ive bought the bike i wanted when i passed my test but was to scared to buy !

So here's the story......

Im just about to jab up on a spanking K9 gixer 600 in white, the night before I get word as to the lead time for said bike im on the tinternet having a general scroll about the autotrader and I find a 2007, K5 gixer 600 Anniversary, its in dartford and its says its done 1200 miles, has had 1 owner and, wait for it.........its £4099.
Obviously I dismiss it as I was always told by my dad that if something sounds to good to be true........
Anyway the next morning curiosity gets the better of me and I pull up the advert at work and ring the number ( its a non franchise dealer ).... "is the gsxr 600 anniversary still available?" I ask......hang on I will just check comes the reply, yes mate it is !......I begin asking the questions.... "is it a uk bike, how many owners, hpi clear, exact miles, condition...it all sounded to good to be true !
I put the phone down and am very suprised, the bloke sounds like a proper bloke, and, much to my suprise the bike sounds like a genuine bike !!

I bide my time and give it serious consideration, then 2 minutes later ( it could have been 2 and a half minutes ) I ring the guy back and pretty much agree to buy the bike if he throws in delivery, and to be cheeky a tail tidy ( well if you dont ask..), a phone call later and the deal is done..."i'll get it to you friday" the bloke says.
OMG, Ive just bought a GSXR, from dartford, without seeing it, what the hell was I thinking !! I wouldnt mind but I was sober aswell !!

A day passes and on wednesday ( my day off ) I ring the dealer to make sure everything is ok for friday...." its on a van and is gonna be with you today" he says !! ****, I panic and start to get the biggest butterflies EVER !!
I ring and sort the insurance and wait for 5pm to arrive, OMG im thinking, I was so excited that I almost weed !!

5pm came and I ring the driver...."im stuck in traffic he says, my sat nav is telling im not gonna be there until 8pm " !!!!

So at this point I ring Matt at the bike shop and tell him the situation...he wants me to pay for the bike as he leaves the shop at 6pm and needs to have the bike paid for before he goes or the driver wont drop it off !!

Yeh right....as if im gonna give some bloke i've never met £4000 for a bike i've never seen ! But contrary to my better judgement I give my credit card details over ( atleast ive got some protection with a credit card ) and pay the man !!

8pm comes and goes, no sign, my heart is starting to race and im starting to think ive been stitched. I ring the driver and he's 10 mins away, sure enough 10 mins later a dirty old LWB merc vans rumbles into the street and this bike geordie bloke gets out ( I think he was geordie, I always get northern accents mixed up ) opens up the van and I see 2 rought looking bikes strapped to the van walls and in the corner under lots of quilts and blankets I see a lump resembling the shape of a bike, my heart is now pounding my chest so hard that my recently cracked ribs are starting to hurt !!

5 agonising minutes later and he's wheelng the bike backwards and down the ramp...OMG it looks very much like the bike in the pictures...yes it is, omg, OMG, Matt had said that it had been owned by 1 owner who had hardly used it and that it was like new, sure enough it was "like new", the only thing that i'd been told was that the "petrol" sticker on the tank was slightly peeling (obviously i'll be pulling this off anyway as I know it a petrol !!) and that was it.
I could hardly believe my eyes, the bike is amazing, I am still (2 days later ) in shock !

Having been out for a quick ride last night I can confirm the bike rides aswell as it looks (im not sure how long it will take for me to get rid of the chicken strips tho ) ( oh and yes, 2 years old and it still has chicken strips, in fact the tyres are like new !!)

I am truely amazed by my luck and I never expected the bike to be so nice, I am so impressed with it that it almost seems a shame to ride it !

Anyway, if the weather is fine on wednesday I will be having a slow ride up to Squires ( Paul if your going let me know ) to show it off, oh and my new spangley BKS leathers that actually fit !!

I think the bike is still on the dealers website "2ndbite.com" take a look and ask yourself the same thing I did " does that look to good to be true?"
It just goes to show, every now and then something happens that restores your faith in people and makes you think that the big man upstairs remembers the times you hold the door open for old people and appreciates that every now and then you need a reminder that he exists.
"yes there is a god" and this week he's been looking out for ME !!

I hope you have enjoyed my story, it will be a long time before I have such luck again so for those of you that I might meet over the coming months at squires etc, remember, dont ask me where I got it or how much I paid as im sure me gloating about story, and how lucky I was will just make you sick and green with envy :smt016 ! You have been warned !! :smt037:grin::wink:

Very nice those Ltd K5s. Get the Yoshi tri can.

I nearly bought one with the yoshi, 5k in mint condition for £3500, but it was a bit big for me.

As for buying the bike without seeing it, let alone a test ride, you're much braver than I am!
