Currently in process as we speak in balancing my carbs.
I'm using a vacuum gauge and calibrated it so it is reading true. However I just can't get them to sync.
I'm using the exact same gauge as

My front carb is reading steadily around 0 pounds and hovering on that mark when idle warmed, and the rear carb is bouncing a bit round 5-15 inches depending on where screw the adjuster.

Now reading at 0 pounds cant be right can it? it is fluctuating but not much, seems quite steady even when I rev

your gauges may need calibrated..

well like said already calibrated them. But read that forum this morning, gave me a tiny idea but tended to go off topic near the end so didnt help too much.
Question is could there be a intake leak thus why reading such low pressure on the front carb? Or could there be another problem such as other in balances or problems

While we're on the subject, what's best to use as a cap on a carbtune hose? I'm guessing the blanking cap that sits on the takeoff point on the front carb is probably a little small for the hose... As it's a vaccuum, would a bodge effort with a bit of rubber and some insulating tape do the trick?

I'm thinking- I could attach the hose, with a cap on the end before warming it up to do the measurements- save getting the carbs off when the engine's warm...

check for leaks, or try swapping hoses/gauges

just stick a bolt in it. as long as its plugged it wont leak. if it is leaking you will soon know..

also try to get the restrictor as close to the carbs as possible.

@ hallasv, make sure that you have not put to much restriction on the valve.

Sorted now.
Due to the hoses being quite old, found one had perished at the end causing a leak. So recut it and problem solved!

Huge difference already just at idle. The amount of popping from the exhaust was unreal when idle, felt embarassing sat at lights with my popcorn maker...
Got them both sync'd perfect as I can now, only thing found is when blip throttle, one seems to return to idle pressure faster than the other but they still sync when idle. Also tends to make a popping noise still out of the exhaust when say choke is on at a high idle speed?
Otherwise thats it really!
