Howdy,

Situation:

I've recently purchased a 2001 SV650, it had a new battery installed the day of purchase, and was running great (for about a month).

4 days ago, the bike died on me. (Battery charge was extremely low), so I jump started the bike, and charged the battery when I got home.

The bike ran fine on my next trip (to work 15min, and home 15min) but when I went to start the bike later that evening, the battery was completely dead. (no power at all, no lights, no horn, no odometer, no start).

So, I've resorted to charging the battery again.

I've checked the threads here, and it seems the fuses are a common problem, so, I checked the fuses, and they are all fine.

Now I am stumped, I have no clue what to do, or where to look.

Please help, I really want to start riding again.

Thanks alot eh.

Search charging system - much info on here, lots of it by me!

Undoubtedly someone will be along in a mo to tell you it's your regulator rectifier - which it may well be - but there are other faults that can cause your troubles, so an understanding of what's wrong will asisst greatly.
