Hi all, can someone clear up a bit of confusion for me :confused:

Handlebar heights on the S and Naked models, been looking thorough a few bikes for sale, some S models seem to have clip on style bars and other S models look like the bars are above the yokes, is this possible in standard trim - did it change by year?

Is the Naked version the best for 'upright' riding position?

Cheers

the naked sv has higher bars, mounted above the top yoke like an off road bike, where as the faired sv has lower clip-ons which are mounter below the top yoke. there are a couple of threads on here about fitting naked bars to faired bikes.

i think you will have to ride both to see which suits you and offers the best riding position, i rode my sons curvy (early model) when he first bought it and i find the bars on that to be lower than the bars on my pointy (later model) and they are both faired bikes.

Cheers Geoffrey, so to sum up;

2004 on

The 'S' model is the fully faired and 1/2 faired model with lower bars

The 'N' model has no fairings and the bars are higher

Is that right?

It is indeed.

If you see one with the fairing and proper bars rather than clip ons, then it is a DIY job.
