i'm assuming i would cut about an inch above the weld next to the little hanger bit at the bottom?

I THINK it was 5cm on the curvy (for a fuel exhaust), so something like 2 inches.
Sally fitted a new can to his pointy recently, he'll know.

Measure twice, cut once.

~2 inch/50 mm..

Ask Arron, he sees that measurement daily...

Do yourself a favour and get rid of the mickey mouse sticker, though. ;)

If you leave it on for too long after you start using the bike it'll be next to impossible to get rid of the glue stains...

i'll fit it myself just need to give myself some time to do it. probably this Sunday morning. Can't imagine it would be that hard :) only one cut in the pipe involved :)

9 inch grinder straight threw no problems... just remember to protect everything if you are leaving the pipework on the bike. also use some masking tape wrapped round pipe then mark for cut then cut. take footpeg off at the pin lets you get into the pipe easier..

And don't cut the swing arm! :)

You're assuming? It doesn't come with instructions? Good luck. :)

He's off on sabbatical again, but let me quote somebody with strong feelings on the matter...

GUYS, GUYS, GUYS...PLEASE...DO NOT use a grinder. [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o< [-o<

This fitting of the can is a complete absolute utter piece of ****. I kid you not. Get yourself a proper hacksaw (12 inch) with a NEW hacksaw blade and some tape as a guide. It will cut through the pipe like butter. Dry fit everything, take it a part, put some silicone sealant on the joint. Thighten it all up then you are done.

I fitted my exhaust to my K6 in 5 mins it was THAT easy. It was also the first time I'd done it.

If you **** it up with a grinder there's no way back. I'd rather not read any horror stories about the grinder messing up your bike's paintwork.

He made Mr Shonadoll use a hacksaw. Made him.

Just an opinion to consider. :)

I will take this advice and have a go tomorrow morning ;)

Well that's it on now :) it never came with a baffle so think i may try to get a hold of one for it! it's rather loud but does sound awesome :D. I did the cut with a hack saw after removing the foot peg. Originally couldn't see how it would fit but figured it out. Had to lower the rear bracket down a little to clear my indicators. What you guys think?

what does i look like from the back, looks like it may obscure the indicator, which you'll get pulled for i think.

Stoneyginger

it does a little im currently trying to move the indicators up above the can. Any Suggestions?

Put the rocket launcher back on, they're much nicer. :p

The standard can weighed a lot more than this one but it's not going on again until i sell the bike providing its a trade in. Going to buy a link pipe for that just incase!. As for the indicators the pictures make them look hidden but infact its easily seen from behind so i'll just leave it unless i get pulled, may try and move them up slightly at some point though. Anyone about tonight for a meet up? stoney :P

if you've not already done it the cut is measured up from the weld... once on you'll fall in love with the noise!!!

Leo Vince cans are nice, but i stoopidly bought a carbon one which blew...
