I accept your apology
Although with the way UK is going with people losing jobs, i would of thought it would of been a good idea to try and keep it, unless of course you have something else lined up or enough money to tide you over for a while.
On the otherhand, its nice to see you took a stand against management and i hope it all works out for you.

legally walkin out of your job doesnt lose you the job..instantly nor does swearing at said manager.. etc etc.. even with witnesses
of course I should imagine it is against policy and dismissal..and constitutes summary dismissal.. but they have to follow procedure.
but- that said they have to contact you and call you back for a disciplinary and dismiss you with correct procedure..they need to suspend you pending the disciplinary interviewand pay you until that interview if it covers normal working shift days , write to you informing you of this and your right to a none contributory witness at said interview. bla bla bla.. or you can come back at them with a can of worms.. They should not have a pre determined outcome of the interview but of course they will.. and yea you will lose yer job but can get a few days pay out of it and cause them some grief cos it sounds like they aint done anything right and wont do this right.. get down CAB tomorow morning.
unless of course you working cash in hand and no contract.

I thought you might, welcome to the free state..
My opinion - you have let your anger get the better of you. You criticise management for not having two brain cells but the truth is that they are still there - and you aren't. So who has two brain cells? You can't claim JSA straight away if you resign. I suggest you turn up for your next shift as if nothing has happened and hope that they allow you to restart.
And please stop using textspeak, it's hard to read.

haha sorry about the txt speak guys its just habbit,
anyhow..not at all, they are the ones loseing out because there not going to have anyone to cover me and its not like we just had one argument and then i uped and left theres been stuff going on for ages involveing the whole team but last night it just came to a head because i was bord of hearing the same old rubbish from this guy...anyway there isnt a chance in hell im going back there they can grovle to get me back even so i wont be going back.
i'll reiterate tho they havent got the brains, i've been working in kitchens for a long time since like my first job at 14 so i know how it should be done and how it should work and they quite simply dont so why should i waste my time and stay there plus i've got bigger and better things to go onto, im waiting to join the army (Artillery if anyone's interested lol) at the mo and got my whole career ahead of me

I fully agree with the job's a job rule, but punch anyone who says think of the money ^.^
If you don't like it get out, maybe not in that way because you won't get a reference, but don't hang around just for the sake of having a job. There are jobs coming slowly now, i didn't work for 4 months apart from a couple of days, then all of a sudden i had 2 weeks work, got 4 1/2 days work this week and a full time job starting next week on 8.05/hr (apparently).
Best of luck to ye.

Chuky, good on you for making a stand. I do think if you'd handled it a little differently, you could have really turned the knife as the actions you took will not do you nay favours if you want to now turn the knife.
Great advice from Quiff and speak to your local CAB office asap. I signed a contract once for a new job when I was 21. I had a copy, they had a copy and I was due to start on Oct 18th. one week before my start date, I had a phone call saying they didn't want me afterall (I later found out that because I also bred pigs they didn't think I had a upmarket enough image).
I knew my position, so asked them to confirm in writing so they did. They sent a letter saying, "We are sorry to inform you that we no longer have the space for an extra desk in the office and so are withdrawing our job offer".
They also called the place I later started working to say that I was unreliable.
The max I could wait was 1 year, so I did. 11 months after that, 10 months after that, I went to my solicitor, he took them to a small claims court and I got paid the full years wages paid to me. This is because, after signing the contract, I was legally employed by them and any dismissal would have had to go through the standard procedure, which it didn't. I went into the office after getting my cheque and this is what I said to the boss.
"I wanted to say thanks for the bonus, I'm off on holiday for a month. I know you didn't feel like my image was upmarket enough, but that was a very foolish asumption to make. The Former First Sea Lord that is hosting your upcoming event at Ascot is a personal friend of mine. Now, I could tell him about the treatment I recieved at the hands of your compant, but unlike you, I don't take pleasure from scoring cheap points. If he asks however, I won't lie for you."
I finished by saying, "Oh, and the Orange account that you lost............that's on my books now!
Best feeling ever and I walked out of there feeling 10ft tall!
Get clever Chuky and hot them where it hurts, but be careful about putting warnings up on here than names them.....they can sue you for slander etc.
Good luck!

Sorry Ed. I jsut used to type extensive reports in "proper real good English" ha
so when I am relaxing I just let it flow and miss letters out- words out etc and use abbreviations.. cos I relaxed. I have a thing somewhere with all the words mixed up but its still legible and very very readable.

Sounds like you really made a balls up of that though, fair enough you've made your point, but you can be FAR more annoying to people than just going "**** you, you ****", fair enough it's good at the time, but far more satisfying to choose your words with care and watch your opponent dig, and dig, and dig...
You're going to pull strings and shout "bang" a lot, that's fair enough and a better career than cooking pie and peas, but come on, you could have made a far better job of the wind up :-P
Have you calmed down yet?

haha i have calmed down a lot actually, i was going mad yesturday but in the cool light off day...i've realised im still right lol :P
