Ergonomic Mouse

I need a new ergonomic mouse. Preferable one with back and forward buttons on it for browsing. I don't want a rechargeable one, just one that is comfortable. Oh and I use it for gaming too

Any recommendations?

I use mine daily and it goes weeks between charges, bung it in overnight and it's done first thing in the morning...

If you're used to the rather large size of the MS mice then i'd go for the intellimouse explorer 3.0
Perfect for websurfing and fragging :)

i do not do alot of gaming myself.
but any game were not need to move a mouse about, i found it so much easier, because you do not need to move around a mat, just use your thumb, at first, friends had found it awkward, but it does not take long to get use too.

go for the trackman, i have had the corded and cordless versions, never had a problem with them.
well apart from the cordless being a pain at times, so go for the corded version, you wouldn't go wrong, none of the hassle of wiggling a mouse around a mat:mad:

I don't think I'd get on with a trackball. Looks fiddly. I'd have to try one before I bought it

i have been using one for 9+ years and they are very very good and reliable, it's till going strong.

they are like Marmite though you'll love it or hate it.. what ever you do don't get the one with the ball at your index finger go for the thumb one. and for god's sake don't buy the microsoft one they are utter rubbish.

another thing, i have a 22" samsung monitor and i can go from one side to the other of the screen in one movement of my thumb no need to do the 'mouse shuffle'.

+2 on the Logitech track ball - I use mine all day every day at work. I was getting sore a wrist from a combination of throttle hand + using a mouse daily so started using the trackerball a couple of years ago and not had a problem since. I've not tried any FPS games with it as I only use it at work but I think it would be good.

I have been using one of these for a year now and it cured my RSI/carpal tunnel problems very quickly. Just as easy to use as the thumb wheeled version once used to it with all the same advantages. There has been a few different versions of it - mine is like the one linked above with forward and back buttons - and keeping your hand centrally over the mouse is (I find) very comfortable for extended use. I've playes several games with it with no problems.

im using a logitech mx518...might be abit dated now but absolutly lovely!
and has a few extra buttons that come in use.

have a look at cheap gaming mouses they seem to fit all requirements with nice extras.

I think the problem is I don't just rest my hand on the mouse, I sort of hold it in a clamp, so that I can lift it quickly if I need to do the "mouse shuffle" to get to the other side of the screen. So my hand is constantly gripping the mouse with my fingertips. I'm getting cramp in my fingers
