Great news. Will create a massive media frenzy round Ferrari at the next race though.

Will be interesting to see how he does now compared to everyone else. :p

Absolutely amazing....very harsh on the test drivers, but I'm very glad he will be coming back for valencia at least.

I dont expect him to do that brilliantly but should be interesting.

This is what makes the "No Testing" rule a bit rubbish. New drivers need to be able to practise.

He won't have raced at the first circuit back either, as it's the Valencia street circuit which was first run last year.

Hooray!

the driver we love to boo at is back. Should be entertaining.

Wonder where he's gonna park the car in qualifying!

Will Bernie still take the same stance with "Schumacher made F1 boring"...will he heck! Bernie will exploit this terribly to gain media attention and more publicity for F1!

Seems pretty official link to the F1 site, but looks like he has to prove he is fit enough, as said elsewhere, he has got a dodgy neck after a motorcycle off...

http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2009/7/9703.html

Can only be a good thing for the sport, but if he thinks he is in for an easy ride he's going to have a shock, he'll have a crop of fresh drivers all wanting to beat him.

...and it's a street circuit which I don't think he's ever done! Run-offs are pretty much non existant so not an ideal track!

If I remember correctly, the test drivers Marc Gene and Luca Badoer were both F1 drivers from a few years ago. If I had those two plus Michael Schumacher on my payroll, I know whom I would choose.

Amazing. Just what F1 needed after all the bull**** politics that's been tarnishing the sport recently. I really hope the FIA over-rule the one race ban dished out to Renault (not that they should be let completely off the hook, punish the team and not the drivers) then we'll have four world champions lining up on the grid in Valencia, all of whom have a shot at winning.

On the downside, there's still three weeks to go until race day

no, on the upside...theres three weeks for shumey to get fit, race ready, thrash around in an older F1 car with the driver aids turned off and slicks fitted

come on shumey, show 'em how its done ;)

Apart from his neck injury I reckon his fitness will be there or thereabouts. It wasn't that long ago he was still testing for Ferrari so my guess is he'll be on the pace pretty quickly.

I'd like to add at this point that I am in no way a Schumacher fan and I hope Lewis kicks his **** ;)

It is gonna be fandabidosie :)

I for one used to hate the bloke, then took a view from a different angle and thought, no he is pretty good. Now, Kimi was doing fairly well at the weekend, they look back up to the pace...I'm putting a tenner down later on for Schumi to pick top three up...

Such joys we can look forward to Schumey throwing the toys out of the pram when he not as good as the rest of them and parking up in some wonderous new parking space. Or taking everyone else so he can win - just for the hell of it or taking the champioship runner out of contention becuase he can.

then again i maybe a complete schumey hating cynic (despite him being a really good driver and wld love to have been able see him tackle senna) and he might play ball and he might be as good as the rest of them to which i will take of my hat. I just hope that Ferrari don't start all their underhand tatics.

and I hope that Massa recovers really really quickly!

Ever since i found out about how he demanded that his fellow team mates could not pass/beat him in a race and had it in contacts. Never really supported him that much because if he is the world best why have that?
