Just been to see the taking of pelham 123, it's a good movie, you're always going to get your money's worth out of John Travolta playing the same psychotic bad-guy that he did in movies such as Face Off & Broken Arrow.

However, I don't see the need for the movie. The original is a great film and this movie doesn't top that. It brings nothing new to the table. I'm not sure the point of the remake. It would be like a remake of Chinatown - unnecessary.

Travolta makes a good bad-guy, but as I said a moment ago - it's the same character-type he has played before so even that is a copy!

I could understand a remake of a bad movie, such as Titanic or Spice World ;o) but not this. Remaking a great movie will never end up in glory as you're always going to compare it to the original.

Tony Scott - create a remake of Thelma & Louise if you want to improve upon a movie!

Its not a remake. The director was on the telly the other day saying that although its similir, it is in fact an entirely new movie.

isn't that what a remake is? If it was identical it would be the same film.

Isn't this the third version of P-123? I'm sure it was remade a decade or so ago.
