Just got a new quote for car insurance, my 18th is coming up and my mum said i can either have a party or the money to go towards insurance, she said she would pay for half the insurance as well and with some money put towards from my birthday so I thought I would get another quote and it came in at £690 quid on the 1.6litre rover coupe. I think I might get it insured again and start driving. Pay it off all at once so I dont have to worry about anything coming outa my bank every month. Do a bit of work on it this next couple of weeks and get it insured again I cant wait.

Thats pretty good for a 1.6 at 18! How did you manage that?
I'm looking £1200 TPFT for a 1.4 N Reg Fiesta, but folks want me to go fully comp.. bizzaree.

Impossible ;) the car I learned in was a 1.2 and it was horrible, slow. Get onto a dual carriage way drop a couple of gears and floor it to get up to speed and it moves no where lol
Lucky sod! I got a qoute of 790 quid fully comp on my 1.6 astra with me as main mum as named few months back renewal time and best I could get was 1212 quid with just me and that was renewal with same company I used for first year

I found not being able to floor my car was a blessing in disguise haha. Nice quote tho best of luck :P
Just done a quote for me, TPF&T on tesco compare, for a POS 1.2 1995 fiesta 2 dr, with one accident 2 yrs ago - £500, and i'm 21. Dno if that's good or bad, haven't done a quote for a couple of years.

Car insurance really is bizarre! I've been looking a t few options for my next car when the bike sells and a Mercedes CLK230 Kompressor convertible is only a couple of quid more to insure than a Focus ST170!
car insurance is a bizarre thing to predict! I had a 2.0l 8v mk3 golf gti when I was 19. it cost £1200 to buy and £1400 to insure for my first year. the quote for my second year came down to just under £1k. I then got a quote for a merc c200k coupe, now the car was going to cost £10/11k and the quote was only a fee quid more than my scrapper golf!
think it shows they plug the car into formulas to see how likely it is to be stolen/crashed/damaged. obviously mercs are classes as low risk as they are safe and hard to steal!
Rovers are cheap for insurance. Got mine when I was 18 and was far cheaper than a 1.1 fiesta to insure. I've never driven anything lower than a 1.6! ;)
