Oban, Sutherland House Hotel (b&b really) basic, clean and hearty breakfast. Twice used by Breast Way Round girls and booked again for next year. Got the number if you want it?

I think I'm staying at the Lime Tree in Fort William next week, on a few recommendations- it's more mountain bike friendly than motorbike friendly but any hotel that will tolerate manky sweaty mountain bikers will be delighted to have motorcyclists.
Fair to say though that if you've got the choice of staying in either fort william or oban, you'd have to be mad to stay in fort william, it's completely rubbish. Apologies to anyone from there, but you know it's true, your "town" is rubbish.

Really rubbish?
Apparently so- a lass in our office has to visit now and again for family and she HATES it.

Oban then :)
Surely Oban, quaint Oban; is a veritable hub of scottish hospitality and wholesome haggishness?

Fort Willy is ok Northie just that its not as quaint as Oban....ahhh Oban now theres a sexy town if ever there was one...but my heart is still in Ullapool.

I found their web site so I'm fine for the number.
Nice to hear of a good experience though, so thanks!

3 Years living in Roy Bridge, i think i drank more in the Stronlossit than in the pit called Fort William. That said, i did have a few damned good nights in the Nevis bar!
However it's a nice place to pass through on a bike but a walker/climber/scrambelers dream.
