Don't expect to get any money from the job centre for a few weeks!! And be prepared to be talked to like you're back at school

No just go for the ones you want. But as part of your little card you get, you have to list a certain number of jobs per week that you have applied for. Plus some other stupid questions.

im a joiner, so if there are no joinery jobs going, have got to take some thing like working at tescos or oad sweeper, not that there is anything wrong with them jobs

Oh yeh. They said to me they would let me try to find sparky jobs for a certain amount of time (can't remember how long) then eventually I would HAVE to start applying for other jobs. You can also send out speculative CV's and mark it on your card I think. So considering how many companies there must be in the yellow pages, you could be searching speculatively for quite a while

I got made redundant in January this year and am still waiting for 4 weeks holiday, my notice pay and a months money too.
Try freelancing, its the only way to get ahead these days as most are reluctant to take on permanent workers.
