is there anyway of locking or securing an engine at TDC?

im taking off the cambelt and got the motor at TDC via the timing marks but reckon without being able to lock the motor im going to knock all the timing out?

anyone?

arnt there notches on everything that should line up? so this way it dosnt matter if something rotates, because you can just put it back

a wee bit tipex on the marks once they are lined up then take belt off, put new belt on. if the belt is sitting wrong then you will see it easier. if it is sitting wrong tiz only a matter of moving to the right place. tighten everything up properly (mark with tipex as you go) and bish bash bosh job jobbed. pat yourself on the back for saving £100.
