Awful news Jon, I hope you're all keeping as well as is possible.

Thanks guys - it was all a bit of a shock to be honest. It essentially came out of nowhere. One day she complained of a headache. The next she started feeling dizzy and when taken to hospital they diagnosed her with a virus (not the swine variety).

This nasty bug causes the brain to swell and so they put her into an induced coma to help her recovery. Although she was starting to get better, a week and a half after the first symotoms she had a stroke and massive brain Hemorrhage. She was prenounced brain dead that night and the life support machines had to be turned off.

In this day and age you don't think about healthy people dying of illness like this. It is a good reminder to everyone that you need to make the most of your life and grab opportunities with open arms.
