Yo dudes.

I am planning on doing a repeat of the above rideout towards the end of Sept/Beginning of Oct.

It's the same route as last time. Kinross to Aviemore via Dunkeld, Blairgowrie, Spittal, Braemar then Aviemore.

Return leg is Aviemore , spean bridge, glencoe tyndrum, lochearn then everyone else heads back east or west.

This should be more or less the end of season finale (excluding ice cream runs)

Anyone interested? I'll be doing it anyway.

I'm in! Are you actually going to grace us with your presence this year Mr Boy?

Last year's was a great run, albeit through some of the most horrendous weather I've ever ridden through!

I'm mad for it.

I have no memory of it being dry at any point last year, but the beer and the dancing were excellent. :-)

Maybe, but he's still going to get 20 people committed to going, then bugger off before route or accommodation need to be sorted and Kilted Ginger and Northy will end up finalising all the arrangements. Maybe I'm getting confused with last year ;)

The first Rideout Of The Stuartyboy was the best rideout ever- fact. It had everything- random track bikes, fires, police interventions, turnip juice, Stuartyboy's moves proving irresistable to the young boys, Glenshee By Cloud, the Lecht in a rainstorm, "Where's my bag" and "HAVE SOME RESPECT!" Quality.

Last year I decided it was going to be bad weather and didn't go. I've decided this year it's going to be nice. But, not 16th and 17th October please as I'll be in Kirroughtree.

Count us in, but will probably be late arrivals on Saturday evening.

Anyhow, this may well be the first proper run of the season on the SV for me so it HAS to be attended.

Please remember to leave space in tankbags to pack yer Air Guitars. :smt035 Mandatory requirement.

I'm in depending on the date. Me & MrsCF got a week in Spain end Sept start Oct so will see what date is picked. MrsCF's pillion season is over, so just me.....:smt010 or is it :p?

Gutted I missed last year's. By missed, I mean set off and turned back after 20 mins. The weather was brutal so I bottled it, shat it and wimped out. It sure sorted the men out from the boys!

The weather was brutal so I bottled it, shat it and wimped out.

Meanwhile the rest of us were riding over Glenshee and the Lecht at 45 degree lean angles in a straight line, with sideways rain and gales ;)

I'll never forget stopping at the top of the steep hill up to the Lecht to wait for everybody, and watching a string of bike headlights bobbing about like corks in a swimming pool coming up the hill. I laughed my head off.

I don't think I've been wetter on a bike since my teenage days riding in jeans and a leather jacket with no waterproofs, up Blackpool prom, with the waves coming over the sea wall and spraying everybody (my god that wee Honda's exhaust rusted quick!).

On the ride back down on the Sunday, I've never had such cold hands as my gloves were still soaked through from the Saturday and it was about 5 degrees going down past the Laggan dam, my hands actually went through several different levels of pain. After we split up at Callendar late afternoon/early evening it went dark and started to feckin' snow and the roads turned slippy. Tiger55 in his Spada textile gear stayed dry as a bone, I'll never forgive him for that, it's just not tennis (It's actually just jealousy and when I get round to replacing my textiles, they will be Spada)... Poor old JamesMio still had to get 100 miles back to Dumfries after we'd ridden all day on the Sunday wet and frozen.

I suppose it's time I have to face my fears and try to conquer ......:smt027....

It was a good laugh watching you trying to eat that. In fact all the Aviemore runs have been a good laugh.

Why am I having stupid thoughts about riding up to KG's on the Friday afternoon, working from his broadband connection on the Monday, and doing another 1000 mile weekend?

As you never put your kit in the bunkhouse drying room you mean? ;)

Because it'll be a bloody good laugh? And because maybe you fancy your chances at the Org Air Guitar Championships...

Pah! The fool has no chance!

A high/lowlight for me from last year was watching Ralph pull out of the junction in Tomintoul and just about scrape his right knee on the deck. "What the ****'s he playing at?!" thought I, as I rolled up to the junction, pulled out and was almost blown horizontal by the Huuuuuuge gust of wind that'd obviously almost turfed him over too!

Good times!
