Help, I need to call somebody and I don't want to mispronounce their name.

It's spelled Tadgh Pleamonn. There are acute accents on the 'a' in each part of the name.

Can a Gaelic speaker please advise on pronunciation, and is this person a s/he?

My mother is Irish but sadly my English father refused to let her teach us Gaelic as little kids.

TIA

Ed

Whenever i ahve cleints with difficult to pronounce names i get it from them mate. Mine is difficult to pronounce for some, even tho its not difficult really, it just looks it.

I usualy just say "so i dont get your name totally wrong can you please tell me how to pronounce it right the first time and i promise i'll get it right from then on"

Whenever this has been said to me its made the whole issue far more relaxed and created a bit of a rapport with the caller too.

I knew someone would know!!

I'm guessing that the surname would 'rhyme' with the name eamonn. So I'll ask for Tigue Playmon and see what happens.

Thanks Bluewolf and Sally:D
