Over engineered, over complicated, designed to be a bit of "bling" on the bike.
Also expensive to run if you have to put a new pressure can on every time, as opposed to dumping used engine oil into a scottoiler.
There is no point in adding more or less lube to the chain based on speed, a scottoiler at the right setting will do the job just fine.

Bling crap and clutter on the bars.

I did the maths the acumen would cost £6 per 1000(ish) miles vs £2.50 per 6000(ish) miles on the scottoiler.
Nice idea tho

And you can run a scottoiler for £0.00 per 6000 miles too.
I just liked the idea that there was no fling off from the lube and it was easy enough to tweak on the bars for bad weather rather than having to turn the knob on the oiler and then try and adjust it back for dry weather given the large amount of miles i cover but it looks like the scottoiler would work out cheaper andd your right.....old engine oil costs nothing!

How do you know there will be no fling? You are oiling the chain, it won't stay there indefinitely!
as it was PTFE based i thought it would be more of a dry lube like Wurth's which i use at the moment

Fussy, fussy, fussy. Tried and tested Scotoiler or a bit of well organised maintenance - no? Me neither, Scotoiler every time.
Ok.....Took everyone's advice and opted for a Scottoiler. All fitted now and minimal fling.....apart from when the dispensing tube came off RMV whilst riding with a pillion!
Cheers for your advice on this one
where did you get the scottoiler from if you don't mind me asking?
