HI folks,
Looking to fix up a couple of minor scratches on my bike, and am wondering if anyone has had any dealings with a company called "Chipsaway".

Anybody able to recommend a similar company?

P.S. I'm really only looking for a cheap and pain free repair, not a full re-spray. If i'ts a bit pricey I'll just have to have a go myself!

Was there not a bloke in the org that used to paint stuff...Big Al or something? Although I think he only done major, "strip it off and leave the panel with me" type work...

think they are all much the same, turn up with a van and do the job, cppl mates have used similar company's and always had good results. remember you get to inspect the job afterwords with them still there, they usually advise you if its not going to be perfect.

Big Al, yes. Not been on for a while.

He says dogs can't look up.

hmmm - i wouldn't go that far - i'm just good at prepping the stuff.
its a good laugh and yup he is busy but i think he's got a couple of jobs ongoing(gd excuse so i've been told) - though i'm sure he does minors as well as major stuff.

but let us know how you go and if needed i'll get him to contact you:smt039

Well, I've just Raymond from Bike Medic pay me a visit. All scratches gone for the price of a coffee! Top bloke, he used rubbing compound on one "set" of scrathes, and sprayed the frame scratch for me! :D He said because the scratches were small and easy, (for him ), he wouldn't charge me anything! :notworthy:\\:D/:smt041

Thanks for the recommendation Bibio!

the stuff is called Farecla G3. will remove small scratches as long as its not down to the undercoat... most small scratches are on the lacquer, so are easy to get out.

glad you got it sorted... even better for free...

it was gerbrox who recommended bike medic... i merely suggested using scratch'n'dent ppl..

i dont even attempt to touch up paintwork now (unless i can just buff it out using G3), i just get one of the mates to do it. i have buggered up to many times and spent an awfully lot of money doing so.
