I know it all ended on a bad note last time I was here, I think at the time I was so frustrated and feared it and you guys tried ya best with me and looking back I apprecaited the help and i have now forgotten about the erm ........ well some of the more to the point comments!

Well little update for you that are interested! http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=129151&highlight=ruth&page=22

with regards to Dizzyblondes comment 2 post down. Sorry but you've gotta eat ya flip flops! :D

Yup pretty much rode the bike every weekend i can! Recently got back from a 700 mile trip to Newcastle to see some friends!

Since I have last been on here I have only dropped/placed her down once more!

I'm loving every bloody minute of it! Still struggling slight at slow speeds and cornering, but whilst up in newcastle my friends made me go round and round a quiet roundabout to help me get my speed up and help me do some U turns as well!

So can we let by gones be by gones (or whatever the saying is) and start over!

Oh and don't worry about the space between the rear wheel and the number plate. think that is just the angle of the pic, theres plenty of room.

You've got my vote, I just love someone who is definitely in the minority yet sticks to what they believe in, regardless of how it turns out. Even happier you're enjoying your bike more, just make sure it stays that way!

Welcome back Ruth. I'm glad that you persevered, I like people who do what they say they are going to do. And especially people who defy their sternest critics:p

Hhmm not had any probs and I tend to get all the pot holes and bumps!

Was thinking of replacing the fork springs and using a heavier oil! Job for the winter!

If she's little shouldn't be a problem.

I'm not quite sure how I missed this thread yesterday... but anyway...

GET IN!!! :D

Well done Ruth, I'm really happy that you stuck to it. I don't know if you remember my PM ages back, but the offer still stands. Just that now it would appear more to be a general ride.

Oh, and I'm also passing your way even more often than I used to now.

Let this be a lesson to everyone on the forum. With enough determination, anything, and I do mean anything, is possible.

When i went newcastle a route that normally takes em about 1 hour took us 2!! :D whoops!

I'm ok on straights! lol, bit slow round bends, but am getting it slightly lower each time. Bit slow on slow corners e.t.c and going downhill! :smt100

Been out today, nice ride upto Rutland water, got lost a couple of times! But hey ho! Also had to do a very scary hill start, stalled it first time but whizzed off fine the second time round! Slowly but surely getting there!

I think you better have a word with someone at work about making you a flip-flop-alike.

I was thinking layers of wafer with caramel in between, covered in chocolate.

Add a greaseproof paper sole and insole et voila :)
