Anyone got one and can answer my qestion?

Does it upscale standard channels? My contract is up for renewal soon,a nd maybe going to get a V+ box. However the only thing i would do this for is to get standard channels 'upscaled'.

Afew people have mentioned to me that Sky HD has more of a variety than Virgin. Perhaps someone with virgin could comment? Just thought I'd mention in case you were wanted more variety.

There is no upscaling that I can see. Though Virgin in the last month have had a load of hd channels added. The only thing I will say is the image depending on the age of the program and who is broadcasting them changes alot. BBC seems to have the highest image quality on all there channels (not including HD) with ITV quality being the most random, with some programs looking nice and others looking just awful. Dave with its number of older programs can look really bad, but then when they get new stuff like the new series of Red Dwarf they did looked just fine. Discovery normally looks nice too.

The V+ box does upscale.

However, I'd agree with Grinchypoos that the quality of some of the channels is poor, I think that's to do with the original source rather than the V+ box.

All reviews I have seen of the V+ upscaling says it's better than the Sky equivalent... but it ain't magic :)

Ah I have been corrected... I just like the fact that when there is heavy rain or thunder I don't completely loose my picture. :-)

Ah, ok! Its just when i watch some of the Terestial channels on my std cable box, you get some images where peoples cheeks on their faces stay still etc. It doesnt do it on the std channels (Built in the TV) but my TV signal is poo anyway, but only on cable, hence the question and the only reason why i have cable TV in the 1st place, oh and the fact you can get Iplyer/4oD/ITVnet player all on cable.
