Welllll here we go.
Ive heard rumours this place is getting quiet...i fancy changing that.
Im kinda new to this place, ive been browsing and there are some "usual suspects" on here So who fancies arranging some kinda ride out and i can get to know some of the people behind the pictures and get these rideouts more happening? (although its heading toward winter hmm)
C'mon dont be shy :smt038

Ah! but first you have to be initiated into the GM.
To do this you must agree never to be seen with anyother GM member, and wear a cat on your head for 2 weeks, whilst eating curried custard.
Duckboy1989
23-08-09, 09:55 AM
bank holiday rideout?
sexyhellbeast
23-08-09, 10:18 AM
Bank holiday, DONE! im there...wherever that is! :O) (weather depending)
and i dont get the GM thing, enlighten me, although curried cutard could be fun!
easiest way to organise a rideout out is to just post details and say come along if you want. any more organising and it usually goes horribly wrong. GM are notorious for saying yes but never actually turning up (or is that just Dan xx).
Post plans and I'll be there if I'm free and have new tyres!
custard

get any kinda marinade near me and there will be trouble!

23-08-09, 02:41 PM
I will be up for a bank holiday ride out, just say where and when
sexyhellbeast
23-08-09, 03:30 PM
lets say Monday.....lunchtime(ish)....location umm any suggestions?
sexyhellbeast
23-08-09, 03:31 PM
and trouble is my middle name custard! :OP
I'll be 50/50 for the bank hol monday. Sure I'm meant to be doing something but can't remember what at the min.
As for location, just choose one. I doubt it has to be close to Guildford itself as you're unlikely to get many bikes coming from there! ;)

Box hill?
That's an hour from Alton for the original poster! :)
Duckboy1989
23-08-09, 08:02 PM
could always meet box hill, then ride out from there, or meet nearer to alton (basingstoke?).
Then go see the sea if the weathers good.
suggestions???
sexyhellbeast
23-08-09, 08:16 PM
i think your on to a winner ducky...as i dont know where box hill is!!!
crikey i jus realised...i couldnt organise a pee up in a brewery!!
How about the lesiure park, basingstoke, some where in there?
is that good for everyone?
I can't firm up on whether I'll be there till tomorrow/Tuesday night!
Loomies is always a good place to meet. Then go to box hill from there, down the A272.
Duckboy1989
23-08-09, 09:29 PM
How about the lesiure park, basingstoke, some where in there?
is that good for everyone?
put an address up and we'll call it a deal. is this for the monday right?
i say meet 12ish, have a nice "sunny" ride to the sea for lunch? or picnic on the beach?
Duckboy1989
23-08-09, 09:35 PM
sorry daz, managed not to read your post!
sounds like a plan as well.
as hellbeast started the thread..... think its up to her to decide :)

24-08-09, 04:26 PM
workin... :(
double bubble ... :)
sexyhellbeast
24-08-09, 05:00 PM
hows about a compromise....12ish, Monday, Alton Train Station, that way we have loomies on the doorstep if anyone wants a tea and a pee, AND then the next destination can be worked on???
Duckboy1989
24-08-09, 05:48 PM
done.
sexyhellbeast
24-08-09, 06:08 PM
any rain and im a no show ;o)
Duckboy1989
24-08-09, 06:10 PM
hold on, there's two stations..... the one in the town center, or along a31?
The one called Alton Rail Station I reckon! ;)
I'm 90% sure I'll be there now. I'll probably just carry on and meet you all at Loomies to save going into the Alton one way system!
Duckboy, you're welcome to meet me in Basingstoke on your way through if you intend on going down the A339.
Duckboy1989
24-08-09, 07:36 PM
yea, that'll be handy, as i have no idea where im going after that!
still need suggestions for a ride out after we meet...... if its sunny i still think lunch by the sea.
sexyhellbeast
24-08-09, 09:03 PM
lunch by the sea, sold!
alton aint that big or bad...and there isnt much of a one way system. :O)
let me know where u guys head for...i dont fancy being the only loner at the station hehehe :O(
Duckboy1989
24-08-09, 09:10 PM
for me will be easier to meet daz in basingstoke. shall we just say meet at loomies at 12? its not far for either of us.
Sounds good to me. You can do Basingstoke to Loomies in 20mins sometimes.
So...who's leader?
Duckboy1989
24-08-09, 09:27 PM
i think you just volunteered..... :)
will start a thread with date and time etc.
where do u reckon on the coast....
only really been brighton and west whittering, something different would be nice.

see how well it goes.....
Haha, probably not advisable to make me leader. I'll only get us lost!
The only route I 'roughly' know to the coast is down the A272, then down the A29, then into Worthing. I haven't done this route in a while though...so wouldn't know it perfectly.
Welllll here we go.
Ive heard rumours this place is getting quiet...i fancy changing that.

sexyhellbeast
25-08-09, 06:53 AM
good job ducky!:smt045
and surely getting lost is half the fun Daz!! I know a long way to Brighton but ribbish when we get there! i hate that bit!
why cant they put signs up saying Seaside this way! would be much easier!!;)

Alton is just down the road from me and along one of my fave little routes.
Can't fo Monday though as I doubt I will be in any sort of shape to ride a bike.
I should be there, just have to find it, if anyone is going from near guildford way i would like to follow
Loomies is at the junction (cross-roads) of the A272 and A32. From Guildford it would be straight down the A31, then down the A32 from Alton. Or A3, A272. Not sure which is quickist without doing it!
Someone needs to volunteer to be leader...I don't really have enough riding experience to want to do it!
sexyhellbeast
25-08-09, 07:04 PM
i not been riding long to so shouldnt be allowed to lead...plus being a woman....hold on what am i saying?? ;o)
Will someone explain this GM business??????
sexyhellbeast
25-08-09, 07:05 PM
I should be there, just have to find it, if anyone is going from near guildford way i would like to follow
i could meet you at Farnham if it helps Nick :D
Hmmm....who's the most experienced then...or who has led before?
I've got a years riding under my belt.
Duckboy1989
25-08-09, 07:40 PM
3/4 months on an sv. don't really know the roads, but if no-one volunteers i'm happy to lead.

And what about going to Poole Quay?? if anyone knows where that is?
Duckboy1989

I'm up for that, as long as everyone else is?

I have no idea what those roads are like...never been down that way before.
Duckboy1989
25-08-09, 09:16 PM
was looking at the latter route.
know of any nice pubs down there?
I know pretty much nothing of that area! :)
Need to get a route sorted though otherwise we'll spend all day getting lost and looking at maps!
Duckboy1989
25-08-09, 09:20 PM
route number 2 :) done. with a quick stop in the forest maybe, cos i like pictures of landscapes.
Ok...maybe deviate the route a bit though to do some twistys as the route is pretty straight!
Will be slow going through the new forest bit..don't fancy hitting any wild horses.
...and this is by no means me vollunteering to be leader! I'm just providing suggestions! ;)
Duckboy1989
25-08-09, 09:26 PM
haha
Duckboy1989
25-08-09, 09:36 PM
yea, bit straight, but most of the roads around it look tiny.....
petevtwin650
25-08-09, 09:51 PM
Right guys, I'm gonna stick my oar in.
Why head to the coast on Bank Holiday Monday when if the weather is good, and it appears you won't be going if it isn't, so the roads will be absolutely rammed and the resorts full of screaming kids dropping ice cream on your pride and joys? That's if you can find somewhere to park even.
Come up to the Midlands. Yep, the roads will still be busy but they are more open, tend to have less speed cameras on them, and there are usually more options to find B roads that are demanding and less busy.
End of tourist infomercial :)

Train station?? it be easy for you to get to, what time?:p
And what about going to Poole Quay?? if anyone knows where that is?
Im sure i can find that so yea ok, who bout 1130
Pete is right about going to the seaside on a bank holiday...what to do what to do.
Decision lies with the topic starter I reckon! :)
sexyhellbeast
26-08-09, 05:02 PM
why do i have to make all the decisions :O( im useless at them, comes with being a libra!
umm, could head to new forest way, stop for luncheon, or go to boxhill or sumit (i havent been there yet) i need some guidance...having only been riding weeks its hard for me to know where is worthwhile going! :O(
a272 from start to finish ;o) wherever that may be!
And 11.30 is cool Nick, gives me time to do my hair hehe

you can't really see in the pik, there is a road on the right, two cars were turning right, about a meter to the left of them, as i started going past (<30mph) the second car changed its mind and pulled out to the left, to go off road around the car in front, taking me out on the way.
he told the police he never saw me. i was behind him for a couple of miles, bright yellow bike, noisy exhaust, HID headlights, and he didn't see me?
so thats the story! and hopefully the links will work for the pictures (not sure how you put them on here)
Riding to wales end of September, so have already started work on the bike, and can't wait to be back on the road.
