More fun than football anyway. Stabbing is taking things too far. Otherwise fair game.

It's all taking things too far! People take their kids to these games!!

Fair enough if the casuals want to fight each other but go and do it out of the way!

From all accounts the idiots were taking out their own side as well... Bricks and bottles thrown from the back weren't making it to the opposition fans

Its all been arranged by the groups long before the game anyway, they're not real fans

Some people do sudoku ... other people like to keep their brains ticking over by trying to find somewhere where they can batter the living bejayzus out of each other without unwanted interference from old bill.

Not necessarily idiots, just misguided!

And I'd say they are certainly real fans of a good scrap!

My problem with it is when they do it at the stadiums and in the street and then joe public end up caught up in it.

If they want to knock seven shades of sh*te out of each other, thats their choice, batter on, but don't do it at a football ground where there are real supporters and kids.

typical football idiots, dragging innocent people into this situation is terrible. why were the police as useless as usual, have they not heard of metal detectors?

Gotta love the cup games, whenever that tie comes up, you have to rub your hands together.

Scum who give real fans a bad name.

We will end up like the bad old days where the police will try to coral, control and intimidate legitimate fans because they think they can. And of course use the anger of the fans for being abused in this way to justify their actions.

Being herded 3 miles down the road in the opposite direction from your car simply because of the colour of your shirt is not fun. Freedom of movement/speech in this country does not exist once a senior officer decides to make a name for himself. Been their, don't want to do it again.

Hey guys dont blame /condemn the police for what happened.

How would you like to be in a situation where you are trying to establish control where you are outnumbered by angry mobs possibly drunk/drugged and definately up for a big scrap and also keep your wits about you in a situation where you might end up dead....(and thats the sad truth of it all, its happened before...[PC Blakelock]..and it WILL happen again!)
Its hot tiring, frightening and definately not easy...not really something you go to work hoping for at the start of your shift.

That aside, I think that it is sad that families cant go and enjoy football like they used to!

The man speaks sense.

Football is not what it used to be as a fan.

silly thing is , you just dont get this kind of stupidness at rugby games....

TBH I struggle to believe that a lot of coppers don't love a ruck as much as the hoolies do.

Seems to me it was West Ham who was mainly at fault ...from what i can gather they were waiting for them between the tube and the ground ...most of the ultra violence was outside the ground before during and after ....wouldnt have fancied the walk home after that match !

Nor would i have fancied being a copper having to police that game...!

As for families, dads with their kids, would youreally take your liitlun to a mid week match between these two bunch of nutters, i could see the Millwall lot having drinks outside the pubs on my way home, not one of em was under 30 !

Maybe we should build some concrete pitches and just let them all in there until they've battered each other senseless and then get the survivors to clean it all up.

Mass cage fighting; ykims.

Football isnt all prawn sarnies and Sky TV. It was out of order but the game has become too sterile.

Any doughnut that takes his kid to a game that hasn't been played in 4 years, that always has fights is a prat IMO. For those that haven't seen Green Street, that is a great reflection on what goes on at that sort of game...
