Grrrr. I keep getting to the edge of the rear 180/55 and its annoying, you lean start going off of the edge pick it up, lean down again and do the same again. Not good im sure you agree. So want a long lasting rear but want more lean so I start looking at PR2's, roadsmarts etc and none of them do 190/55's! Arg. They do 190/50 but I still want the bike to actually go round corners so ill leave those...
Just a rant really. Guess I might have to just get a pilot power... or PP2ct. :smt102
Oh, anyone know why?

Aye, there are two 190's, 50 and 55. 50's steer slow, 55's are faster steering...

am guessing it must have been the 50 cos it were orrible
your not therefore taking this all as a sign to stop riding so damn fast then? :)

Well I dont know if I am riding that fast or not... Getting to the edge of your tyre dont necessarily mean much.
I guess I should take it a little steadier but tbh I only do it on the odd occasion when im pushing it a bit and I know the road well so I "should" be ok if I keep my eye's out and feel whats happening. :)

I use Pirelli Diablo Rossos and think them an excellent tyre.
They do them in a 190/55

Nick,
I can't remember, do you hang off the bike much? Could be an option to corner faster...
I think a lot of the sports touring tyres aren't as pointy in their profile to go with their ST nature, although I know loads of people who KD PR2s etc on sports bikes pretty easily.
Just fitting a set of PR2s to the GSXR tomorrow, it will be interesting to se how they fair...

this is true, dunno i just like to keep a bit "in hand" should i need it - unless i am on the sm and then things do get a little silly.

Aaron (ad53ggz) has a similar issue on a TL, at one point he said something very similar to Tim.
Haven't spoken to him since, but get his attention on this thread (he's away at the moment)

I dont think I do hang off much but I find it a little difficult with being small ha ha. I suppose I should learn to move around a little more on the bike! :)
Still Id like the wider tyre to see how it works for me. I have a fat **** 6" rim for a reason ha ha.
Will see what happens.

I've got a mate who's a bloody fast road rider and very good racer (done the Manx a few times and picked up replicas etc). He's got a ZX10R and it's meant to take a 190/55 but he has fitted 190/50s in the past. He says he can't tell the difference, so I very much doubt you will at your level of riding.
