Me -- I'd say a 50/50 split.

Friday night (good) ran into Saturday morning (still good), which I didn't recover from until about 6pm, by which time my ears were pretty sore from the verbal "told you so"'s - bad. Missing the train didn't help (bad)

Cut the lawn and pulled out loads of dead summery plants - good
Had a big walk with the dogs - good, after the hangover resided....
Been shopping for a few beers - good, but difficult (I hate shopping)
Drinking said beer - good!

Had a go at shaving my head for the first time in my life (nearly 30 yrs). Not as easy as I thought. Bad, and hard, but end result, good!

Watched 2 comedy DVDs (Michael McKintyre and Frankie Boyle) - alcohol assisted - good!

Just ate loads of (reduced - I know - I went when it was closing) 9p cooked sausages from Morrisons hot counter - good!

Cooked a truly splendid veg curry - awaiting to be eaten - good!

Cooked a random pork shank I found as well (the oven was on...) - result unknown.

Neighbour having some sort of boyband / crapmusic garden party. Bad. Its just not Reading/Leeds.

How's yours?

Saturday morning - work :(
Saturday afternoon - rode up to aberdeen to try new lids but the shop was closed. But it was a good run anyway :)
Sunday morning - work :(
Sunday afternoon - Cleaning the bike. I haven't done it in a few weeks and the insects were glued on! Took a lot of scrubbing but it's done.
Monday - Work. No bank holiday here! :(

That sucks - I should apologise now for those who either have no holiday tomorrow, or those who are working the weekend, or, in your case, both!

Wish I cleaned my bike today. Its getting grey.....you make me feel like a bad owner :D

Friday - in work until 10pm, a very busy day too as we have a trainee on so I have to do two people's worth of work. Not good.

Saturday - better, got my new lid at Hein Gericke, already reduced which when you add the 20% sale discount meant I had it for less than half price! Then garden party/BBQ at a friend's new house which was pretty cool, saw some people I haven't seen in years, lots of good meaty food... driving home so no booze but at least the roads were deserted at 11:30 so a pleasing drive at least.

Sunday - drank beer, played Xbox, watched 'Legend of the Seeker' marathon with SWMBO, broke another Xbox headset.

Monday - in work EARLY... but at least that means home early which means more beer and Xbox (need to buy new headset on the way home) and also wasting time in work researching Fazers.

So yeah, too much work but I have NEXT Monday off so I can feel smug then, all in all a short but good weekend.

You people work weekends way too much it seems.

I missed a bit - watched the first 10 minutes of the Belgium GP today - saw our man come off at the first corner, and switched off.

Watched the results - and am ready to cash in! Woohoo - good!

This sounds brilliant, and reminds me of a conversation I overheard the other day (Friday):

Woman1: "I can't believe I have to drive all the way to Scotland tonight, its so far"
Woman2: "How far is it? Is it far?"
Woman1: "About 300 miles, its really far"
Woman2: "Which part of Scotland is it?"
Woman1: "..........Carlisle"

As a northerner living in the south, I nearly cried. I tried to laugh, but I couldnt.

It must be in Scotland, after all, Robert 'Carlisle' is Scottish!

(look at the time - I did say 'early'!)

I worked all day on friday, saturday and sunday, which was not fun. Saturday was better because I was working with a friend who makes me laugh and then bought me chocolate.

On Sunday a rude, angry bum splat shouted at me down the phone for five minutes because the gear cable on his mountain bike had stretched and his gears were slightly out of tune. I actually offered to fix them for free, but he still shouted at me like I was a moron. Handed the phone to my boss and let him get shouted at for five minutes. Boss told me that the man was a (rude word that rhymes with anchor!), you get the idea. Then had more stress and people accusing me of doing things I had not done, which I was able to disprove, but only after an argument. People, if you break your mountain bike through stupidity and ride it with the forks on backwards, causing the disk brake to break off, that is you fault and not mine.

Came home feeling stressed and sad, so had a shower and a cuddle with the cat until I felt better. Then Carol came home, cooked a pizza and we cuddled up with a movie.

Today is my day off and I am still in bed posting this. Carol just brought me a hot chocolate drink and I am going to enjoy a relaxing, peaceful day away from from cretins, rude customers and bikes covered in big dollops of dog poo that are apparently my fault!

Normal service will resume in a few days.

Sadly true YC.

I built the bike for them and it was running sweet, despite only being a £100 bike. The customer then asked me to turn the handle bar sideways for them so they could fit it in their small car. I did so and explained that the bar must be turned back and tightened before riding. :-k

They got home and turned the fork the wrong way, putting the disk on the wrong side. On cheap and nasty bikes, the disk carrier is simply screwed on to the hub and if turned the wrong way, it will unscrew. :smt011

The disk unscrewed and stripped its threads, cut a chunk out of the bottom of the fork and broke off. The customer returned after an hour claiming I had done a bad job building their bike. The look on their face when I told them it was not a warranty issue, but due to stupidity will haunt me. They deflated once I had proved my point, but if they will come in shouting abuse, they deserve it. :smt107

I had a bad day, but at least I was not an idiot. I expressly told them how to turn the bars, but after all I am just a woman, so what do I know? :smt075

I get this a lot. One customer asked one of my lads to check the bike for them because it had been built by me, a woman. The lad just smiled and told the customer I was a better mechanic than him.
I have had customers ask to speak to one of the lads about their bike rather than ask the woman a technical question. I love the look on their face when the lads then come and ask me right in front of the customer.
Sexism sucks. :smt011 I will have to grow a beard and see if that changes things!

So-so. Spent a fair proportion of the weekend running around after my parents. Mum was admitted to hospital with heart pains on Saturday evening and discharged after a night of obs. Dad can't drive because a week ago he dislocated his one good shoulder when he tripped in the garden and landed square on his face (his other shoulder is useless due to an old bullet wound from army days), so it was up to me to run him and mum around. He looks like he's taken a serous beating with bruises all over his chops and arm in a sling.

All three of my sisters are out of town, and my lil brother has learning difficulties so it was all down to me to muck in and sort the oldies out.

I was meant to be attending my son's GCSE results party but was with my mum at the hospital all night, so feel a bit bad about that.

I may relax with a drinky tonight before an early night, I have to be up at 4-30 tomorrow morning

Friday, packed up car and drove to Bala.
Saturday, woke up in a lovely field next to the lake and watched our sailors fight the wind.
Sunday, actually got to sail, in about a force 6, exhilarating!
Monday, watched several capsizes before packing up and driving home.

Fab weekend, with lots of socialising (which I don't usually do) and drinking!

Mine went carp, not at all to plan.

Friday - Go to Soho - Negative, went to Newcastle for work got back at 1.45am.
Saturday - Recovered and was out v.early for brekkie then took mates to football, then crashed out because was so tired.
Sunday - Worked then over to friends to prepare for evening in town, what I didn't prepare for was a fractured metatarsal and staying at the casino until 5am.
Monday - Recovered, went to get something to eat and then headed to hospital to confirm bone fracture.

Weekend rating 6/10.
