I'm not overly bothered as Suzy is now retiring for winter and Dave is back on the road.
Last week I rode aprox 220 miles down the A1 and I put in less than 15 quids. Didn't even get the light to come on before filling. Gosh that bike lives off fumes :-)

Great stuff.
Here's me just started looking at high compression pistons, porting cylinder heads out, flatslide carbs... But no! Better get the "big bumper book of IAM grandad riding" out again to try and get fuel use to somewhere above 100 miles to tank again!

If you have as many cars, vans, landrovers and bikes as us it all adds up.
Just been and filled up everything! Twas fun, btw Tesco and some of the other garages were MUCH more expensive anyway. Keep an eye out for some of the local ones which are always cheaper.
£1.06 here now diesel & petrol :-(
Great stuff.

oi you! i'll give you grandad. Besides my grandad still get over 140 miles to the tank!
Petrol is always a rip off. In the last 4 weeks has gone up from 99.9 to 103.9 so after tax rise its gonna be 105.9. What happened to us as fuel was reaching the magic£1 a litre mark it was all this is ridic and fuel protests vow we will prob be approacing 110 and not a peep from anyone. Is it really any suprise that we get shafted in this country when we are so relaxed about it. We just bend over and ask for more.

Were you expecting it to get cheaper?

If you add the VAT then that 2p/litre becomes 2.3p/litre :-(
And just to cheer you up, VAT goes back up to 17.5% from 15% at the end of the year, too.

Been saying something similiar for a long time. It's not only fuel we get shafted on and again the general public don't do anything about it. Most people cannot be bothered and others think other people will sort it out.
People cannot blame any one political party for this, as they all shaft us in some way. As I have said before, the only way of reducing the price is by the entire country banding together and causing the government grief. All car drivers, lorry drivers, motorcyclists, ect ect to completely block all major roads around London, Manchester, Birmingham at the same time and keep them blocked untill the government gives in.
Will not happen though as there are too many complacent people in this country.

Grandad----------THATS ME--------My best ever mpg was keeping the ST below 4000rpm[72mph in top] through the gears on. 268miles and the fuel light flickered so I filled up to the brim 18.11lts[21.5lt tank]
That equates to 65mpg for a 955cc bike in touring mode and short shifting into top,so it is possible to get good fuel consumption------BUT ITS BLOODY BORING
The flight time usually puts them off!
Ah but I can be a determined little man sometimes.

It goes up, it come down. Simples!
Dont forge it was around £1.20 a Litre not so long ago, then it dropped to below £1. I have given up worrying about it. Yes its wrong as oil prices have pretty much stayed the same. Blame the chineese and the Americans theya re the ones pushing the prices up.
