Its a black one that keeps parking our side our work, with the most lovely black Akrapovic exhaust system.
I feel the energy being drawn from me to the dark side... help...

Lucky for me my finances prevent me from making such a purchase, but the draw is strong. I wonder how much a second hand one goes for???

Thank god for that, they are all far to expensive, even with a potential insurance payout.

They are rubbish, I hate mine, it's so slow being an IL4 with 750cc, it handles rubbish too with USD forks, and the radial brakes are carp. All in all you're better off staying away ;)

Grinch...go ride one for half a day and you'll see why they're so hate-able.

We all seen pics of Tim trying to climb of his round the ring all the time aint we. Plus they look awfull. And they're made by some unknown bunch of small timers called Suzuki. I mean who the fek are they and what they know about bikes, eh?

Plus mine has needed a total of 0 ml of oil between services, that has been with a fair few track miles too... so no good if you like to fiddle with it to keep it healthy.

In comparison my mate's 08 blade needs about 5-700ml of oil per Ring weekend, Hond@ say it's not an issue until you need 1l/1000 miles

A rip off and you *have* to have fully comp insurance.

All insurance is a rip-off, until you need it.

Would you seriously run a brand new bike on anything other than fully comp insurance?

For the first year certainly but you might not think it as important a few years down the line. Plus not everyone can afford fully comp on even a new bike (even if they should).

Of course free insurance helps! :-)

Yes and did. I could afford the bike but I couldn't afford to pay 1/3rd of the value in insurance! The insurance would have cost me not far off per month than the bike did!

It still cost a fortune TPFT but I figured that the extra grand that fully comp would have cost went a long way towards repairs.

Would I do it now? No but then I earn lots more and insurance (full comp on a bike 4 groups higher than the SV) is 1/5th of what it was then for TPFT...

i gotta admit i have insured nearly new bikes 3rd party fire and theft in the past when premiums have been stooopid 'o' prices.

i paid nearly a grand for tpft on the sv two yrs (aged 17) ago now the gsxr is going cost me 920 fully comp (aged 19 this wed), and gap insurance some thing like 150.

i cant see why i shouldnt, so i have and i cant wait. :D

DON'T DO IT!!

I did exactly this in 2007, test rode one while my SV was being serviced, then ordered a 750!

In the two years I owned it, I covered a whopping 2000 miles.

Extremely fast, but even more importantly EXTREMELY uncomfortable.

Now back with an SV. I miss the 750's power, but I don't miss the agony after an hours ride, the boring engine/exhaust note that all IL4s make, (as in, every IL4 sounds the same) and it had no soul.

The SV has a certain something.

Not saying that an SV cannot be beaten, of course it can, but for me, right now, it's perfect.

And to put it in perspective, since 03/03/09 I've covered well over a 1000 miles. Although not alot, because I use mine for fun only, still more per year than the GSXR!!
