Hey guys.....we always have a thread asking what we're doing on the weekends, I thought I'd start a thread asking how your weekends were.

Me and Stretchie went to the Baskerville Challenge with the dogs and my mum and dad. My sister and brother-in-law were there with the kids as they were competing and it was the most amazing weekend for anyone that likes off roading and truly beautiful scenery. We camped ina rally field at Baskerville House Hotel. It's the real Baskerville.....Arthur Conan Doyle was a friend of the family that used to own it.....he used to stay here regularly and learned of the legend of the Baskerville Hounds. He based his famous, "Hounds of the Baskervilles" on it and the graves of the family hounds are still there....protected with covers, but we took them of (this IS allowed) to take some piccies!

Here are a few shots....

All lined up and ready to go to the woods for some fun and the competition

My brother-in-law Mykuls Landy after he broke the Diff...ooops!

Mykul went to use the loo and someone decided he should stay in there...lol

We had a bl00dy fab weekend. The porta loos were booked by the Landy club as it's a MASSIVE event that's held there each year...BUT...

The hotel has this HUGE field with toilets, showers, a swimming pool, a private bar, hardstanding for bikes, allows BBQ's, own beer etc and rallies have the place to themselves....all for a really good price, so I've suggested it to Hovis for AR10 if it's going to be in Wales and he's organising it!

Mine went carp, not at all to plan.

Friday - Go to Soho - Negative, went to Newcastle for work got back at 1.45am.
Saturday - Recovered and was out v.early for brekkie then took mates to football, then crashed out because was so tired.
Sunday - Worked then over to friends to prepare for evening in town, what I didn't prepare for was a fractured metatarsal and staying at the casino until 5am.
Monday - Recovered, went to get something to eat and then headed to hospital to confirm bone fracture.

Weekend rating 6/10. No planned motorcycle work went ahead at all...

Rode 120 miles, mostly escorting a mate on the shakedown ride of his trike.

Got to Derby, pitched my tent, got dressed up (same outfit as AR08 but minus the hat), went and had beer and food, hit a few people with rubber swords...

Saturday found myself volunteering to take part in a ritual to save the world, more food, more beer, more hitting people with rubber swords.

Sunday, Saved the World, more beer, more rubber sword action.

Monday, rode home.

Friday - went into Manchester for shopping / afternoon drinking session with a mate. Afternoon drinking soon became evening drinking, swiftly followed by night-time drinking, and finally ending up at early-morning drinking followed by unconsciousness.

Saturday, went round to a friend's house for a BBQ which was abandoned in favour of an afternoon drinking session because the BBQ hadn't been cleaned since last year! Afternoon drinking soon became evening drinking... you get the idea!

Sunday, spent the day virtually comatose with the mother of all hangovers & watched the MotoGP.

Monday - worked :( but at least it was double pay...

Mine and Matts was brilliant, we went down to the New Forest (lyndhurst) and then went exploring. Hired some bicycles and cycled around for about 15 miles and stopped off at a few points. Also managed to go to the Beaulieu motor museum - Was a truly relaxing weekend and highly recommended :smt003

Sounds fab....Dan and me were at Beaulieu earlier this year.....in awful weather as they have a big land rover parts sale and car parts sale there, but as we were helping out, we didn't get to go to the museum :-(

glad you had a good time :-)

this AR planning lark is easy

Why is that? Because this weekend I found a venue that ticks all the boxes and all that's left is the route??? Hovie.....the way you and the Taffia know the roads....the route is bound to be amazing and the scenery even better. Stretch and I are going to go back there and we're also going to drive up ono the bluff....aparently it's one of those incredible mountain top roads with amazing views! Maybe that could be included if it's bike friendly...would make for some fab photo opportunities!

Hey GG, looks like we missed a really good time.
Mr VT sends apologies for not making it :(

Friday: Went to EuroShowjumping Champs Gala Evening with Fizzy Fish

Saturday: Rode new horse, went to Hein Gericke, bought new gloves, rode back on bikes went for detour, played 'how low can you go on abandoned roundabout'

Sunday: Decided to clear out Mr VT's spare room while he was building the Landrover, hatched plot that the box room attached to our bedroom can be converted to a 40s -type pin up girly dressing room.
Took dogs for a walk, rode new horse again which went well

Monday: Finished clearing room ready for girly invasion in October, made roast pork for lunch. Started clearning box room

Today: Painted box room, bought some cute items for it....including a huuuuge make up box from Paris and 2 wig stands.

Saturday - golf followed by mucho beer with mates.
Sunday - golf followed by taking Bess up on the North Yorks Moors for a mega walk. Had her on the roaming lead. She met her first sheep and, typically Collie, immediately dropped flat. Then up, forward ten yds, then down again. Sheep weren't interested, so she lost interest too - no worrying.

Monday - golf. A HOLE IN ONE after 42 years of trying. There followed one mega pi$$ up :drunken:. I know, good walk spoilt etc but i'm still high :geek:.

Ha! I might as well be in Barbados. The majority of my waking hours are spent in a darkened room in front of a computer. So the violin is coming back out... ;)

Why are you in a darkened room? That's unfair, you deserve to live here then, I say we swap...I will go and live in NZ and you can come and live in horrible rainy old Northamptonshire...Deal?

Perhaps, if you had less beer SK, your sword might not be so rubbery #-o

Sunday: Met 19 other Dukes riders and then rode 50 miles to meet another 59 for a small rideout.

Friday- went and told my sister that we would be not going away with them this weekend as need to save the holiday from work
Saturday- Spent the day cooking while drew clean the breaks and swaped the tyres on the car (front to back)
Sunday- drove up to Bolton for a dodgy MOT that turned out not to need a dodgy one and pass anyway
Monday- drove home and sold drew's bike..... but think I have converted him to my prefered car as the next one! :D

Mine didn't go to plan - faulty hyraulic line on the rear brake of my mountain bike blew off and the resulting accident broke 2 ribs. Rubbish!!

I do a bit of co-driving in a landrover trophy - heres our website http://www.twinaxle.com/vehicles.html - if you look at vehicles I co-drive with stodd, it used to be a disco but 30k later is has front/middle/rear winch (2 ARB 8274's), 1 off door conversion, bob-tailed/nosed and locking diffs etc etc etc

Oh bad luck on the accident, ooh horrible, broken ribs not good.

Oh thank god Mr VT didnt see the stats on your vehicle....arrrgh he's got a front and rear winch and lots of extras but he was going on about a middle winch, saw one for a few thousand pounds at the Billing show not so long ago...I wish I was that rich, I would buy him one in a heartbeat!

I'm getting him some Landy bits for our forthcoming anniversary, which he appreciates more than stuffed toys and things like that.... I know its not very romantic, but I did buy him a live bunny rabbit for Valentines day once!

I started my long weekend with an extra day off on Friday. Mrs Guevara and I had hoped to do a bit of camping, but had been unable to book anything. Regardless, we decided to head Eastward for the coast and see if we could find anything, or just call it a day trip.

So Friday AM we packed up the truck with all our gear and headed out. We got lucky and found a decent campsite about 2 miles out of Skegness, which was ideal as the wife loves the 2p machines. We got set up and then headed into town to gamble away our small change jar.

We'd packed bicycles, so Sat we cycled out to a salt-marsh nature reserve called Gibraltar Point, a few miles S of Skeggy. Spent a bit of time wandering around there before cycling back and heading over to the Bateman's Brewery to have a look around.

Made our way home on Sunday (campsite was starting to get pretty busy), unpacked and sorted some stuff out around the house.

Monday was ultimately lazy -spent most of the day just lounging in bed with Mrs G, napping and watching TV. My feet didn't even hit the carpet until the late afternoon. It was bliss...

A few piccies:

I had a Fricking awesome weekend too.

The mrs bought a helmet, jacket and gloves and we went to the seaside and ate fishes and chips on the beach at Hayling Island on Saturday. Was a bit windy but so cool. Also got more comfy with how the bike handles two-up, never got used to it before now.

Then went to Get Loaded in the Park at Clapham Common on Sunday with a mate, had a great time dancing my socks off to Pendulum/Royksopp/Orbital live! Was quite odd being totally wasted in the middle of the day. Got home at about 9pm and it felt like 4am!

All in all, amazing weekend.
