OK my insurance has just come through and I have been given less than 2 weeks notice and Bennetts auto renew the policy.

That in itself has kinda p'eed me off as they tell me they are taking the first payment out my accoutnt. Yeah they will have a shock.

Anyone had a good quote recently from a good rep company or any suggestions of who I should look at?

Shopping night on t'internet again :(

Steel garage from the pictures that I saw of it going up.

I would also recommend thebikeinsurer they were always the cheapest for me for the first couple of year.

I wanted a bit more peace of mind this year so went for Carol NAsh.

Cheap is not always best.

Better to be with someone you have heard of and known for good customer service when you come to claim... than being with a random company with a call centre in india that took 2 hours to get through to on the phone.

I agree here and disagree with ya Kwak (kick my a$$ if you wish). I cannot be done with years on the phone.

Devitt, AA and Suzuki are cheap quotes. Surely the AA and Suzuki must be half decent??

Also look at leather and lid cover, its usually around £30-£40 and if you wipe your gear then you get paid out, otherwise it can be expensive on that front.

Thank you guys for ya recommendations !!!

I have been on each website and done a quote and Carol Nash is coming up tops. It includes breakdown cover which is bonus as I was going to get that seperate at extra cost.

£123 pls £40 for kit cover ( I would have forgot thanx VT) from a reputable co is good me thinks. I gotta ring them as I want to mention I not got stock can on, hoping it doesnt make a difference.

Thanks for all those that helped and PM'd me xxxx Lova ya guys

They'll probably be able to drop it below the website prices when you call - might be more difficult, as they haven't got as much to work with on yours as they did with mine :p

Footman James, based in Cradley Heath quoted me less than £100, TPFT, including breakdown cover. Beat Carol Nash by about £50. Worth a call.

last time i searched through thebikeinsurer.co.uk, the cheapest company in the list actually phoned me as i was about to hit the "pay" button, and knocked about another £30 off. I was very happy. They were obviously very on the ball and it cost them £30. Don't spose that happens very often.

Bit of thread grave digging, but thought I'd do something about my renewal.
Finally got peed off with Bennetts and their forever increasing premiums upon renewal. Been with them for about 7 or 8 years and after the premium going down for the first couple it has steadily gone up, despite growing no claims and no motoring convictions.
It went down to about £150 a year fully comp but has risen to nearly £230!
After a few phone calls, and it is better to call rather than use comparison sites, especially if the bike is modified, I now have it back down to under £150 again, this time with Carole Nash of whom I have heard nothing but good reports.
I had to play them off of other companies quotes, which saw their initial quote drop by £40, and this is with the modifications including the gsxr front brake and fork conversion, of which they were happy about because it makes the bike safer to ride.
Perversly, when I phoned Bennetts and told them of the quote, and also declared the fork/brake upgrade they said they would not insure the bike because of the modification.

Depends on the service the insurer provides.
I used comparison sites as well and, as orose mentioned was phoned by the cheapest company within seconds. They quoted £170 but when I had listed the modifications during the phone call their quote had risen to £270.
I've now got what I wanted, thats a quote that is cheaper than the price comparison site, with the modifications, and with an insurer that is generally regarded as one of the best insurers.
It also comes with motor legal protection, protected no claims bonus and home relay brakedown cover, including europe.

If you all followed the advice here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/cheap-motorbike-scooter-insurance
We would never have to have another thread like this again. :)
It lists all the comparisons sites
http://www.thebikeinsurer.co.uk/?refid=MSE
http://www.gocompare.com/motorbike-insurance/default.aspx?Media=SB002
https://www.beatthatquote.com/capture/motor_bike_insurance/vehicle_detail
Plus all the other companies that are not included above.
Plus lots of good advice
Plus Cashback deals, like Swinton giving you £30 at the moment.

Trouble is though Stu, when I tried to list the mods on the comparison site, I ended up with one quote of £170, one quote of £8000 and the rest just said unable to give quote, please call.

Mods* should not make a difference but cannot be dealt with on the internet. So find the cheapest on line & start calling.

*They're unlikely to be performance enhancing

As I said earlier, the cheapest online quote phoned me, then when the mods were listed the quote went up another £100.
