Either/both might be a useful option for the rideout of the year.

Not for me mind, working on the 10th so the 3rd is death or glory.

Mates 18 on the 1st, 10th would be better, but can do either.

Probably either is fine for me, dunno yet. <---- Hmm, not the most decisive statement ever!

Staying at the bunkhouse as usual i assume?
Nothing fully booked for Oct yet, from whats on the website.

3rd would prob be better for myself since its my birthday weekend on the 10th ...eg major partying.

OK so there appears to be 7 (2 from the eithers) of us for the 3rd then.

Start at Kinross services for 11am and same route as ROOTSB07

Is that the same route as the now infamous ROOTSB08?

Is that the same route as the now infamous ROOTSB08?

AFAIK - I wasn't there last year and can't remember why not. I was away I think :smt017

Anyways - it's getting nearer and we need to get a date set in stone and some excitement built up.

Either that or some pics of women with big boobies (or if you're a wummin a pic of a fireman)

Ok, I've voted either too but it seems the 3rd it is so thats fine. Amanda will probably be along with me again (we'll be on a bike for a change!!!!) for this so that makes 9 or 10 of us.

Best to get things organised re. the bunkhouse or we may lose out. I'll ring them tomorrow am. I guess an 8 berth would do us. Plus what ever else they have? We may take a family room like last time but if it's just me I shall rough it with the pesants, lol.

Tiger 55

Lets set the 3rd in stone and go Bunk House crazy!

Some sort of Triumph I think. Bonny? Anyway, Barb won't be there but who will? Get your name down quick, the Presidential Suite will fill up fast.

Whats the actual details, ride up Saturday morning of the 3rd, down SUnday afternoon?

Pretty much, last year a few of us met at Kinross Services on the Saturday morning, then congregated with everyone else at the Spittal of Glenshee (where we spent a couple of hours drying out, soaking the place in the process), then carried on up the run to Aviemore.

Came back down Sunday once the hangovers (ok, my hangover) had cleared.

This is the latest list. I've rung the bunkhouse we used last time. I'm currently awaiting word on if they have 10 spaces for us as I know they're busy that weekend. I thought they might have rung me back tonight.

Otherwise there is the SYHA hostel, where everyone can book themselves into online. That's £18 each, (£17 if you're a member) and there are plenty spaces there.

And yep, Wulfie and me are planning to meet the rest of you guys on Saturday to do part of the rideout - hopefully from the Glenshee section and onwards. That'll be an early start then!

Most likely spot is somewhere in Bridge of Cally. So, if there's somewhere that's an obvious place for stopping there.... do tell as we've never been in themthere parts! ;)

Cool eh, looking forwrd to it already. :smt041

The Bridge of Cally Hotel is just before you join the A93, ideal for our purposes.

And what do you mean you're looking forward to it already, it's next week! :)

On second thoughts, if we're meeting/lunching at Spittal of Glenshee (the Slaves!!) it'd be better for the Skye contingent to go straight there. Otherwise you're hanging about in Bridge of Cally and then it's only a 20 minute ride to lunch.

Here is Ralph's plan from last year which worked like a charm. In the absence of instruction from above I'd say go for this again.

WEST/CENTRAL MEETING POINT:
Kincardine Services @ 10am

EASTIES MEETING POINT:
Kinross Services @ 10:30am for an 11am departure

NORTH EAST/ABERDEEN MEETING POINT & LUNCH:
If one of them jumps out in front of you at Blairgowrie please stop and pick them up. Otherwise we'll catch them at the Spittal of Glenshee Hotel. Depart whenever we have met the Aberdeen crew and we are all ready to go, expected about 1:30 to 2pm, but we are in no rush.

SATURDAYS ROUTE (http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=Unknown+road&daddr=B996+to:B976+to: aviemore&hl=en&geocode=FbKuWQMd1oPL_w%3BFQmHWgMdel 3M_w%3BFVazZgMdqdDO_w%3B&mra=ls&via=1,2&dirflg=h&s ll=57.04073,-3.103638&sspn=2.190678,4.921875&ie=UTF8&ll=56.7647 68,-3.482666&spn=2.206922,4.921875&z=8)

DON'T PANIC!

It's the same route as the 1st year and I'll be planning the route, dusting off the cobwebs and getting a new rear!

Was out on Snuday for a bimble to Kenmore. Waiting at the lights and the guy behind me ran up to tell me my rear was through to the wire! BT016 with about 1K on it. Pictures to follow. Had to crawl all the way back to Perth at 40 miles an hour.

JamesMio

Ah, that's not a great omen for the other chap on here with a red & black Honda with BT016's on it!!

Mine's done about 2k ish so far, and it's starting to square off a bit - I'll give it a good check tonight, thanks for the heads up!

Aww, crap mate. Bloody work getting in the way your social life, what are they like eh! #-o

Well we have somewhere to stay now so I guess thats progress! Fully paid up for two 6-berth dorms at the bunkhouse, £180.

So with Aidey not able to attend that means 3 EMPTY BUNKS!
It'll work out at between £15 for 12 of us and £20 for 7 as it stands.

I'll need names off everyone, part of their T&C's now. So PM's please!

I'm probably going to try & get up to the Central Belt on Friday night somewhere to break up the run on Sat. Got a couple of mates in Glasgow & Edinburgh I can crash with but I'm not too keen on leaving the bike outside on the street overnight - anyone got any ideas where I could keep it overnight? My Glasgow mates are in Dennistoun & Partick, and the Edinburgh one's down in Leith Links... Typically, none of the selfish gits have got a garage.

hey folks just to say Baz is NOT joining us, he's getting the keys to his house this weekend so he has to sort that out. Sheps got Tiger's place in the bunk house, an arrangement Tiger kindly offered, so thanks for that.

I have given my mob to Haggis as he needed details for the bunkhouse, with it I included contact mob numbers. If anyone wants to PM their numbers to me so that someone from the Spearies has them, am happy to take them.

Looking forward to the weekend, all packed just the minor thing of a night out tonight with the freshers of the SPorts Union to go and I will be on bike and ready to go.... in theory.

See you all soon, PM me if you need to.

Cheers

Cash sent Haggis

I take it Tiger is now in the bunkhouse and i don't have to hunt down Dean and wrestle the £15 out his pocket .

Anyone fancy sending me a text when your leaving Kinross so I can join on the back in Perth ?

Not so fast. I gave my spot to Cumfy's pal because Mr Shonadoll and I are headed to the YH, but I'll be in the Bunkhouse if he poofs out. If he he turns up though (pay attention at the back) you will still need to wrestle Dean unless the rest of us throw in a couple of quid to cover him.

All clear?

Oh aye, meant to add....

Seeing as there's a fair few of us going now (14!) - I played it safe and booked Roo's for 8pm tomorrow. Gives us time to get gear off, dried out and maybe get the first round in.
