Er..... Hi!
Neil here, proud new owner of an '07 SV650S (four days so far) and loving it...will love it a bloody sight more when the Helibars are fitted :p
Based in Abingdon, almost spitting distance from Foxy's (H Cafe).
Nice to meet you all!
:D:D
Hi, keep an eye on the fortnightly TVSF meet. There are a couple of peeps up your neck of the woods.

Hi there Neil. Welcome to the TVSF! Are you new to biking or an old hand? I'm also just down the road from H's (I still think of it as Fox's) on the Iffly road in Oxford. There are a few more of us Oxfordites about too. Feel free to give us a shout of you fancy coming down to the Tuesday meets and fancy riding down as a group. We usually leave from Sainsburys on the ring road at 6:30ish and head down past H's.

Hello and welcome. Good to see another Abingdon resident. In fact, was it you I nodded at this morning? Pale blue/silver paintwork heading south past Tilsley park at about 9am?

Thanks to all for the welcome!
@Philbut: I'm pretty much a n00b. I had bikes on 'L'-plates as a teenager (and looking back, am pretty amazed I survived) but never took my test and after 19 didn't touch a bike for years. I bought a Marauder last June for commuting, rediscovered how much I love two wheels and this year went for training With Abbey Motorcycle Instructors (one of their instructors rides an SV1000, actually), passing my DAS on the 11th August.
I'd certainly be interested in joining up with you for a Tuesday ride - I'm finding the riding position on the 650S pretty challenging at present (in fact, at the moment I feel like a complete novice again) so anything that gives me practice and improves my position and confidence is welcome!
@JustaTrick: there are a few of us Abingdonites about - one of my neighbours in the Brewery had an SV650S pointy and another an SV1000, seeing them was what sold me on the bike. Wasn't me this morning though - I head south towards Wallingford at about 0715!
Look forward to meeting many of you. :)

Unfortunately I'm committed that weekend with work - but I'm hoping (weather and wrists permitting) to make Tuesday!
I think I'll be rather slow, however.... you lot will no doubt end up :smt015

Sounds interesting, Warthog - where's the Shire?
Am certainly up for a ride, but a little concerned about distance (and speed) as I don't feel comfy on the bike as yet. Wouldn't want to delay everyone from having a blast while I poddle along behind.
Don't worry about speed. Phil and Nick will go ate whatever speed suits you.
& the Shire is here:

You haven't seen ME ride.... imagine a plank on a bike seat! You ever seen the end of El Cid, when they prop Charlton Heston in his saddle with a broomstick up his ar$e? That's how it feels right now... ;)

**Cough** clean licence and no hideaous fines **Cough** :smt065
Yeah, no problem mate, we all were new to bikes at some stage (I was 9). Its a pretty easy route - all A roads and we don't have to go a warp speed. You'll do just fine.

Oh well, got to start somewhere. I'm up for it, then. :D
Where do I need to meet and at what time?

We usually say sainsburys on the Oxford ringroad about 6:30 so if we say see you at 6:45 at H's (Foxes) that would be more convenient for you I'm guessing. From there we head past Benson and on to Henley, then through Henley and on to the A404 one junction, then its litterally a few 100 meters off the sliproad.
I'll PM you my phone number incase you have any problems.

Or been fined!
Well, not in this country, anyway...
I just thought Id introduce myself as well I live in Oxford looking for an sv at the moment
