I've just secured a ticket for the Dream Theater gig on 10th Oct.

I'm a very happy boy.

That is all.

Very harsh. I like his singing.

However, I don't think he's in the stage presence league of many frontmen though this is not why I'd go to see DT- I simply love their music and am overjoyed see them again- last time was on the Awake tour.

Actually, I think Mike Portnoy and Jordan Rudess hold the band up personality-wise- Labrie/Petrucci/Myung all might as well be behind curtains for much of the gig!!

Haha well I think there are plenty of bits where his singing is really good and key to the song, but he really is quite warbley sometimes. Watching Petrucci come all over his guitar is what does it for me, but I do think they are a great band and I'm sure this gig will be excellent!

Nice one!

If you like the prog-rock thing, check out Scar Symmetry:

Oooh. A bit Nu-Rock/Nu-Metal for me. Those opening vocals put me right off and the rest of them and the guitar sound is a bit generic. But each to their own!

They're quite good. Made me think of Within Temptation*, but not quite as -über-epic.

*Black Symphony is an amazing DVD.
