Now just have the worry of "Did I do all the nuts and bolts up?". Nothing like a bit of OCD while I ride along.

Finally fitted my recently painted side panels back onto Silvie, we now have the same Tattoo, although she has one on each side.

Finished the little bike repair in the glow of Carol's head lights from her works van, despite having a new generator in the garage. It was just too much effort to go and get a lamp! ;)

What was wrong with it? Sorry, but sometimes I have the attention span of a goldfish and I miss these things!!

The design on the Black side panel? ;)

The design is a tattoo that I have on my chest, which was done a while ago as a keep safe. It is the Buzz Saw blade from the Death Metal Band Zyklon, with a Runic symbol in the middle. Ten years later and it is still one of my favourite tattoos, so the bike has two as well now, one on each side to keep both of us safe. :smt074

What was wrong with it? Sorry, but sometimes I have the attention span of a goldfish and I miss these things!!

I burnt out the clutch of my Training bike about six weeks ago and the stuff finally arrived from M&P :toss: this week after Carol phoned them again and complained. We are still waiting for some bits to come, but it is together enough that I can use it for work again. This was the first time since my engineering college days (1990 -1992) that I have played with an engine. I loved it though, but must admit my knowledge is very poor and I had to rely on the Haynes manual for the CG to rebuild him. :D

Well done you! I know nothing about engines. At all. Again, the attention span thing doesn't help...!

Thank you,

Although when it all falls apart we shall see how well done it was. The mechanic types on here make it all sound so easy, but it really can be very complicated. I did enjoy it though.

Am I truly alone in thinking that the OE Exhaust is actually nice sounding and good looking. If I was to change it, it would have to be another silver one, although Carbon is nice, I fear it would look tacky on my bike. ;)

Awwww, Thank you Honey. Defending my little botty. I do not have a builders bottom, but I do have a fleece that rides up.

I can't believe that you of all people would think that Ed... sobs.

The tattoo you can see on my chest there in VT's photo is the one I have recreated on the SV, next to my gorgeous exhaust can! If you want to see where it came from do a Google on the Norwegian Death Metal Band Zyklon.

Having just repaired Henry the Honda, yes that is oily marks on my nose. I had a cold and ran out of tissue in the garage and had to use the rag I used to wipe out the engine case. :smt059

In the back of the garage is Carol's old GTR 1000, sadly she has not been on the road for a few years and needs some big loving to get back to road legal. :riding:

They have their eyes open now and are just beautiful. Cuddles can be booked in advance, although bribing us (well, me actually) with chocolate may well get you a little kittie. We have two at the moment that do not yet have homes. This little tabby is one of them. I have called her Wicket and she is adorable. :D

I have been thinking of trying that famous art of Bonsai kittens (http://dc-wifi.com/bonsai/bkintro.html), this is where you fit them into small jars or other shaped containers and then allow nature to take its course, you can then make a suitably shaped kitten that is easy to store and yet unusual and interesting. I shall keep you updated with my progress. \\:D/

Yeah if you are sat at 85mph all day, the one I tried got a nasty wibble at 95 that didn't go away until about 115 ish, and it weighed more than the QE2.

I have only seen the bike move once and that was when it was put in the garage. It does weigh about 250 kg and has an oil drum for a fuel tank. If anything, we use it as an additional ground anchor in the garage. Any thief who can actually move it will quickly realise that with rusted on brakes, it is not going anywhere far or quickly. :smt081

It did look nice when new, but these days is a tired old monster that we have considered chopping up. In truth, we do not have the money or time to do much to it, so it sits forlornly in the garage, slowly rusting away. :(http://www.staintune.com.au/exhausts/kawasaki/images/Kawasaki%20GTR1000%20Concours.jpg

Carol was very impressed with the SV after riding this old monster though, I think it came as a real surprise to her that such a comparatively small V-Twin could produce so much power and do so consistently, while handing so well. :smt060 Mind you she is still a commited Kawasaki biker and wants a new Z1000.

I have to be honest, I would like to strip and rebuild the GTR, but in doing so would have to dump the thin wheels, ropey old shaft drive, huge fairing and leaking air suspension units. The engine sounds very strong once it is running (the battery died a long time ago, dried up and turned into dust! :-({|= ) and the switch gear does need some work to get a shine on any of it, but I think that under the rust and cobwebs lies a fantastic project bike for some one. Any takers?

yorkie_chris

Heh I have considered similar monsters myself, I'd love an 1100E
http://www.suzukicycles.org/photos/GSX/GSX1100E/1983_GSX1100E_whiteblue_500.jpg

Problem is, with the state of the bottom of my drive, I don't think it would be possible to turn it around!

Jayneflakes

When it comes to dream projects this would be mine, I have always loved these old monsters.

MYCs CG125 passed MOT this morning.

:thumright: Cool, well done little CG. How much did you both have to do first though? On my last MOT I had to replace a light swutch because it was a bit sticky and kept my brake light on. :smt081

I know this may seem a bit sad on a site dedicated to the love of a mighty V-Twin 650, but I am really fond of my little 125. He has character that makes him quirky and fun. OK, on long runs the SV is considerably more comfortable, but for runs around town, I have not found another bike that compares. I have tried Suzuki, Kawsaki, Yamaha and now the Honda, but you know what? My little CG has been the best of the bunch. Bless you Henry, my little 125 friend. :smt006

The Amebix (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgruTCqReUk) have reformed!

Mind you, how about a bit of this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDpc-831GPs) for Old School Black Metal?

Maybe something (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CGOHk2J4jV4) a little more modern.

It ain't no 'Fine Day To Die' but still a classic. Thought this was a pretty decent cover of it, a fitting tribute to the great man :smt035:salut:

I was actually greatly saddened by the death of Quorthon, having been a fan of Bathory since I first discovered them in the early 90's. Another one who saddened me was Jon from Disection, who took his own life after his last album. There are times when there is too much sadness in Black Metal.

Blessed be Quorthon, where ever you may now be. :smt035

To be fair, Nodveidt was a tool, but my god is Storm of the Lights Bane a cracking album!

Valfar was also a great loss, I am a big fan of Windir. We need an org black/death metal rideout + party!

Can't deny any of that. Where dead Angels Lie is my absolute favourite track though.

I am currently listening to Vertebrate by Enslaved and it is so amazingly fantastic I want to cry. Mind you I have just had a very long day at work, my feet hurt a huge amount, I am laying in bed and I just want to enjoy some good tunes after the awful tripe I must endure on the chart playing station we have at work. :winner:

I found to day that with the combination of popular chart music and my tiredness, I was quite rude to anyone foolish enough to annoy me. So I had to come home and have a Black Metal Fix. Usually the radio at work is tolerable, but I find it just irritating enough that I have to have almost silence when I do get home. :smt076

I think I shall have some Dissection and Opeth next.

Oh by the way, near Brizzol is Weston Super Mare, I think I am almost alone being one of the few black metal fans here though. :rabbit:
