AR10 - Venue Reccie Pics..

As some of us were in the area on the Welsh TT. Hovis asked if we would like to have a look at the Venue that you have voted for. Gruntygiggles arranged for a quick tour around and the Hotel owner opened up the bar and organised for us to have some food whilst we were there as well.

It really is a beautiful building, its not bland or generic like many other hotels it has plenty of character to it. Heres a few of the rooms

The swiming pool that is availabe for us to use on the AR10 weekend, they keep it covered when not in use... hence the cover on it in this pic

This is the room that we have exclusive use of. Has its own bar and plenty of space and a pool table to. So if it rains we can get under cover and all socialise together.

For those of you wanting to throw some shapes theres a nightclub on site, having looked around the hotel I can safely say that theres no danger of anybody being kept awake by noise from the nightclub also the bikes wil be parked well out of the way of the night club to.

I really was blown away by the venue that Gruntygiggles and Hovis have found, its brilliant, I think we're really lucky to be going there. I am really looking forward to it already.

Guys and gals, I really can't stress enough how fabulous the owners of the hotel are. They go out of their way to be accommodating. As Fizz said, yesterday they opened the kitchen and got staff in just to feed us lot and they wouldn't have made enough to cover wages in all probability, but were more than happy to do it so that we could "relax here and let your group get a feel for the place".

I have no doubts at all that we'll have no issues or worries with this place. They are well experienced in catering for rallies and nothing is too much to ask of them!

Certainly what I expected it to be. Camp field looks excellent, on par with this years. It looks like Dizzy and Pegasus will be in the hotel though :-) and it looks fab.
I so hope the dates we have don;t get booked, and it can be here, as it really looks to be the best venue yet.

We managed to get lost finding the pub this year - even though we live in Chelmsford - so we may try and follow someone else there!

they done a great job..

whatever the weatehr its all covered.. and if the weather is nice.. WOW.. the views are brilliant..


oh and dont forget the roads there are some of the best around.. It will be tremendous..

There is a petrol station right opposite the entrance too.. only 6 pumps.. but common sense and staggered fill ups prior to the rid out and on return should see it accomodate us.. its a big long drive which is impressive..

I , like fizz was very very impressed and cant thank Grunt n Hovis et al for all their hard work..

I'm definitely going to have to follow someone else down there after getting lost on the way to the start of the AR09. But then it was a very long way from Chelmsford to the pub, about 4 miles and at least 3 roundabouts, and I'd only lived in the area for 38 years.

But I have ridden across the Brecon Beacons before, although that was on a horse.
