Well we picked and named our new puppy 2 weeks ago, Harley the Black lab, went back down to see him today and decided to take his brother as well, so now we need another name.

Harley was an imediate pick and easy, spent 2 hours in the car trying to find one we both like, below is some of the ones we've considered and discarded and 3 or 4 we are still considering, suggestions on a postcard please.

Thought about, Duke, Buell, Fatbob, softail, Bandit, busa, Fazer, Gixer, merlin, gandalf, gimli, sauron, beorn, yankee, but none really felt right. still considering, Bentley, Bosley, Dylan, Oscar, Cooper, Findlay

Ideas? for inspiration, his dads a new yorker, his mums french, He's a big boy even as a pup

He's going to hear that alot over the next 18 months so might as well call it him..

You have deffo done the right thing in getting his brother, much better idea having two of them. Gives them company for when you're not around and also encourages them to eat each other instead of your chairs, curtains, doors, skirting boards, cupboards, shoes, boots <-- You get the idea

Oh and one more thing..

GET THE PICS UP!!!!!!!

A client of ours has a dog called *Dave*. Love it, don't know why but it makes me laugh, a dog called Dave. So, his Sunday name could be Davidson, with Dave for everyday?

My husband wanted to call Indie *Jihad*, that's his middle name,to placate the hubby.

It sounds like he's gonna be a monster, so maybe Vespa. Well who's going to argue when you've got a dog that size!!

Or if he's going to be number 1 dog you might have to go for Rossi

But I'd still vote for Davidson.

Tiger?

By the way, a non bike thread entitled "Just for you Tiger" should really have been about football or lager. I'm a simple sort.

Oh and I'm really not feeling Davidson as a dog's name.

Yours faithfully,
Allan Davidson.

You really are the stereotypical glaswegian;)

Anyway, Bentley is the current leader / favourite

Wondered how long it would take:)

One dog called Harley and another Davidson to go with the old married man image of pipe and slippers;)

Mate of mine down in Kent was nearly demented by his two lab pups, they actually chewed and scraped their way through the wall between his dining room and lounge[they loved the taste of plaster] one Saturday afternoon while he and his wife were out shopping. This is discounting the eaten furnitue, ripped up carpets and lumps chewed out of the doors.they even chewed the knob of the end of the bannister rail on his stairs. The pair of them were mad as hatters but full of mischief and didn't settle down till after they had shed their milk teeth and were about 12months old before he considered them near normal and dared leave them in the house unsupervised

I'm pretty sure this is a thread that will have some ongoing stories

hmmm Bob the dog ate my sofa when he was little. And whilst trying to sell my house thought it was hilarious to chew the skirting board in the kitchen...the morning I had a viewing...grrrrr
Needless to say Bob the dog, grew into a beauty, and doesn't chew anything anymore(apart from the filling in his beds), only took him 2 and half years to get out the habit.

Aston :-P

Harley and Duke make a nice pair though. Seen your pics on ye olde facebook, they're absolutely gorgeous! Beware those big brown eyes though, YC's Billydog still knows how to make good use of them, even after 15 years  Never underestimate their power, beware! :-D

I got my dog when he was 6 months old and within a week he had destroyed a 3 piece suite, a washing machine and a tumble drier - both were plugged in and swithced on and he managed to chew through the wiring. 9 years old now and we still love him.

KG make sure you have lots of toys for them to chew on instead of your furniture.

Crates are a really good help with lab pups, they can be real chewers. Also, kong toys filled with food, keeps em occupied if you go out. Indie, our cocker spaniel, very nearly chewed through our cable line to the computer, and he'd have been killed.

We used the crate to keep him safe if we were out during the first year.

Kaiser eats holes in the wall on a semi-regular basis  thats when he's not ramming down doors that he only can't open because he chewed up the door stop wedge :smt093

KG make sure you have lots of toys for them to chew on instead of your furniture.

Also most dogs and cats hate the smell/taste of lemons so if you squirt lemon juice or lemon scented spray on the corners of your furniture or just in the general area it's supposed to help deter them from chewing.

Hey Marc,

Well done on the 2 pups. They'll be a riot.

I'm keeping out of the name debate. I've a Patterdale Terrier and she's called............. Sugar-Ray J-Lo ................You should never let kids name the dog.

There's two ways of looking at this

A: Somehow drag these people into the current century
B: They (mostly) seem to be above a certain age which means that natures course should whittle this down immensly over the next 10-20 years
