Pass the kleenex :safe:

I'd love one of those, but really I want the pre-VTEC model (just for the simplicity, as well as the added awesomeness of the gear driven valves).

But maybe when I get one I shall get it resprayed white like this

Gear driven cams rock! Much better than camchains, pah!

Besides everyone knows that red is the only true colour for a VFR.

Interesting mods on that VFR though, wheels are different, as is exhaust and rearsets.

Why the feck has the one above got nekid bar mirrors on!

The more I look at it the more confused I am, I thought it was a FJ/FK due to the rear pillion pegs, but the fairing is wrong, it's a FG/FH fairing.

Also the mudguard is wrong as well as the wheel/discs, plus the mirrors and M/C I think it's had a front end transplant.

Nah, I found the original page, it's an 86-87 VFR750FG or FH, just very modified. The NC21 looks very different, totally different tail section for a start, let alone the fairing and tank, this is an NC21.

Mmmmm, RC45, still think the NC35 looks better though.

Which bit? Wanting an RC45 or thinking the NC35 looks better?

The headlights on the NC35 are *much* nicer looking than the RC45's IMO and the tail is a bit big.

Yep they are dribblesome, remember looking at one on a stand at the nec bike show way back when.
Oval pistons, five valve per cylinder, heavy use of carbon and titanium, all very nice but I still prefer the rc30.

Not a pure race bike but more the ultimate road bike.

Look at when it was released and the bikes that came afterwards and you can see where they've copied its looks too.

The one which would have been fantastic which was proposed was a spam can V-twin.

No problem....I have one of the originals!!

Complete with rearsets, Avons, supertrapp racing cans, etc.

Have you read the book on honda V4's by julian ryder? He said there was a trend in ( think mostly north) america for owners to fit differant oil lines and other bits to increase the flow of oil to the top end

in any case, please plleeaaassseee send a picture

I'm going to go for a honda VFR750, I hope I can find a good one. The engines are bullet proof, but I suspect whatever I get will need some chassis attention...

Actually to be acurate it was a VF1000F.
R models were only sold in europe, came with a full fairing and about 3 more hp as I recall. F models were half faired.
This one has a Lockhart Phillips lower fairing.

Don't have too many pics of the VF. Didn't have a digital camera back then.
This was taken some time after it died, not sure what year ...(2000 maybe) but a long time ago.

Here's me showing the VF some love...(in typical american fashion)
This was one of 2 troublesome Honda's I owned at the time.
(Mid 80's Hondas were carp)
After it died, I put the centerstand back on it sat here behind the house for almost a year.
My youngest son and the other kids in the neighborhood had a great time playing on it till Mrs. BananaMan finally said, "It's got to go!"

It's now rusting away quietly in an old log barn on our property.

That really was binary riding throttle and brakes either on or off, none of this gently gently carp, but felt quite safe on it too

Yes I think those bikes were heavy but mine is no lightweight. I think on balance VFR750FR-FV was the best of the VFRs when compared to it's peers. I had a 750FV and still think it's the best bike I have owned. My current VFR is a better bike than the 750 but so it should be as a more current design. However this VFR does not stand out like the 750FV did.

I wish they were that reliable, my Honda has been sat in the shed for six years all broken down:( and had only covered 11000 miles.
Still, if it hadn't broke I wouldn't have gone and bought the sv.

It'll live again, one day.
