I know...

These are sposed to be some of the better road knobblies and instead of wheelying over crests the back wheel just spins, the result of about an inch square contact patch and 70lbft or torque... boooo:smt022

Still, I'm more interested in mud plugging in the winter tbh, and these should be better for that...

Watch those barkbusters if you go into the back of anything!

Although to be fair they do get a good lean on before they go:

I weighed up the pros/cons of solid handguards before deciding, so I'm aware of the possibilities:

No comment on the bike, but I preferred your last avatar

I don't get why two fuel caps? Does it have 2 tanks or 2 caps leading to one big tank?

Watch that big screen for looking at things.... ;)

TKC80s are fine, not bad in wet. Don't like the white bits on the road when wet but neither do lots of things. Lots of folks use them as an all year round tyre. Don't go too quick when loaded though, I thought I was going to die once due to a high speed wobble, but that could have been I was loaded a bit wrong.

The latter, with a crossover pipe, but you still need to fill both sides. Before I got one I used to think 'cool'. Now I think 'what a pain in the ****.

What's the advantage to that setup?

I have yet to find out!

The tanks are almost like saddle bags and keep the weight low, so maybe its the only practical solution to fill both sides. It does mean you have a little glove box on the top of the tank that all bikes should have, it is so handy.

Best fuel tank position I have had was on the X-Challenge where the tank is central and low on the bike and the filler is behind you on the side.

The advantage is that the airbox can sit on top of the engine without compromising the fuel tank capacity, this means the snorkel can be located as high as possible, so you don't drown the bike when fording rivers etc.

You can sort of see the airbox here, the snorkel comes out the front of that and goes up and over the top so it's as high as possible:

You could ride the bike through water up to the rear indicators and the air intake would still be sucking in air and not water:

There's no disadvantage to having two fuel tanks, it doesn't take me any longer to fill up the bike, the fuel taps stay open all the time, it's just a different design allowing certain aspects of the bike to be improved

I took my KTM for a tarmac blast through town the other day (yes I know its irresponsable) on full on enduro knobblies.
Loads of torque, loads of throttle, small contact patch = motocross drifting round corners :)

It probably helps to keep the centre of gravity a bit lower too
