No recalls that i'm aware of. Fairly bulletproof engine. Some have had electrical gremlins. The front of the engine casing and the front forks suffer badly from corrosion, but this is just cosmetic.

There is a major service at 15K (I am doing mine on Monday - also a
K3, also with 15K on the clock). Worth asking whether it has been done.

Yes worth asking if the valve clearance check was carried out at the 15K service. It is when it is first due.

ok so checking them look easy but adjusting them dosent ...
just remembered, the tail light can degrade and flickr badly, especially without the engine running and indicators on. Usually the topmost few leds. Not a critical point, but worth mentioning. Also if its still on its original battery, this will probably be past its best by now.

ok would the light be flikering because of a bad regulator ? and ok was thinking about smaller battery any way because of the gixer shock mod

I will know next week how much the 15K service costs. Taking the bike
in on Monday morning. Don't know whether they will list separately the
cost of valve adjustment.

So in the end I paid £313 for the 15K service. Out of this I guess about £30 went
towards replacing the tank protector. So the actual price of service and MOT worked
out at around £280, about £100 above the usual price. Quite a lot, but I have been
told that this valve clearance check takes a lot of time.
