Ladies and gents of the Org,
This, like so many things was a thread that our dear friend Hovis was so looking forward to starting. I have decided after discussions with Stretchie, Squirrel and Anna last night that for 1 year only, the AR will be named just as Dave would have wanted it to be...
AR10 Wales, the Hovis TT
I will update this post later today with all of the official details, but as he was looking forward to it so much, I wanted to at least start it straight away.
I am so so so proud to be a member of this forum and I hope that wherever you are Dave, you can see the utter outpouring of love for you. It's astounding and I am sure I can speak for us all in saying that AR10 will be your AR. We'll do it for you Hovie baby xxx

Im Looking forward to this and i know how much Hovis was looking forward to it. He was worrying about the route the whole weekend of the Welsh TT. Trying to make sure that he could take people on the best roads while still making time for petrol food etc. All this with a mear 11 months to get it right......lol
When we met up with strech and grunty at the venue he was dead impressed with it (we all were) and was stuggling to find somthink to moan about.
Wont be the same without him, but im sure we can make it the success it would have been with him.

Yeah and he made us wait an hour and a half for him then, bloody numpty. This Saturday he was an hour and a half late and it was just a totally different feeling altogether. Now....he's making us all wait again, but hopefully, we'll all be waiting a VERY long and healthy time before we can get ratted with him again.

Wooo, remind us at the time.....if Hovis knew it would just be an excuse for another drink. After all, the amount of times he told me that he was going to behave Friday night before the ride out, but do much making up for it by getting completely trashed on Saturday means we owe it to him!!!

After a 2 year drought, i'm going to be there. Wouldn't miss this one.
I no longer have my bike so would be ever so grateful if anyone has a spare pillion seat going who lives southeast?! I promise to hold on tightly and not bob my head around in the wind or stare at pretty trees that we pass!! ...oh and i'll sub half the petrol money there and back.... and i'll buy you the first drink!!
If anyone is taking one of those super sized tents (sorry, ladies only) and has space then i'm putting my hand up to be part of the camp to minimize baggage.
...i don't ask for much do i?

Yay...go stick your name on the attendance thread chick. I'll sort out a thread for travel share/tent share requests early next summer to give a few months for you all to organise yourselves. We also have a spare double tent if you want to borrow it. As I'm organising, I'll be driving so can take it with me :-)

Mate, I just sent you a PM as you know, but thought would mention in here.....
I think it is amazing that you are coming over for this. As I said in the PM, I will be seeing his mum again soon and she will be so so delighted to hear you are coming over. I know it is primarily for the AR, but to know you want to because of Hovis too is brilliant.
Although not the greatest admirer of bikes, his Mum has since been in awe at the generosity, freindship and kindness of the whole biking community that he was part of.
Looking forward to some brewski's with you!!!! :D

Likely will not be an SV though as the stock suspension is rubbish and I want to be able to keep up!

Even though I never met Hovis in person, from the few posts and PM's I got from him he always seemed to be a top bloke.
Certainly quite a few on here who did know him personally, thought the same.
Since we did share the BanannaMan connection, coming to this paticular rideout in his honour makes it all the better.
