Hi everyone!
*ahem*
My name is Dan, I live in Devon and I'm pretty much set on getting an SV650 for my first "big" bike. I'm currently on a scooter atm (16) and having fun despite the certain limitations that a scooter has ;). I'm not a showoff or a daredevil, I just want to have fun in a sensible way and enjoy a long life of biking fun. I realise that a scooter to an SV650 is a big jump, but I hope to have over a year and a half experience by then and I plan on taking extra safety courses such as the bike safe day. Hopefully I can help pass the time by talking to you chaps and getting to read some of your stories without getting too jealous.

Hey triv, please dont worry about the low mood on the forums right now
I went from a scooter (pug speefight, yeeaaaaaa) to a restricted SV. The weight took some adjusting too, but the stabilty was most welcome. And so was the ability to go faster than 59.5 mph!
enjoy :D
and ride safe yourself :)

Hi there. Welcome to the site. As you may have noticed, we're all a bit upset today, as we've just lost a popular member of the forum.
The SV is a pretty good bike for beginners (and for experienced riders too), so I'm sure that you'd enjoy it.

Hey dude, welcome to the mad house.
I have had my SV for just over two years now, I enjoy my bike the more I ride it.
Oh just reading your OP don't worry, we all have start from somewhere I'm sure you will get there with an SV and some good riding gear, which is so very much worth it. Take it easy.
Welcome, i'm not far from you!!!! :-D
