anyone know of the cheapest place i can get a shoei helmet if xs?

and are those duotec flip front ones any good because there quite cheap as well.

evil bay you should get 1 for just over £100 cos of all the new models coming out ,imho flipfronts are too nosiey and i can personally recomend the raid 11 as it saved my bacon at 70 face first and the visor stayed on

I've got a Raid 2 as well. Matt Black, looks sexy. And I paid £215 new for it.

i paid 199 for mine a year ago!!!! how come there like 250 now? its silly!!

shes got to have a new one so no ebay goodies unfortunatly.

because of the helmet test results gave the companies a excuse to put price up as it got good

+ the exchange rate etc etc

Its now a multitec flip front and you get a lot fo extras withem them (light tint visor, chin flap and a wishper strip which deadens out noise)

Raid 2 ive looked around cant see much under 200 quid im afraid :(

if you don't mind getting last year's paint job you can usually pick up a bargain from some of the shows or larger chains.

e.g. I got my XR1000 from J&S for £199 when all the '09 designs were £300+

In fact, an XR1000 might be worth a look anyway cos I think the XR1100 has just been released, so there should be some bargains about as dealers sell off stock of the 'old' model.

Incidentally I had the Raid II before my XR and they fit exactly the same but I prefer the XR.

As someone has already mentioned, like many things made outside of the UK, it was the plummet of the pound that led to the price rises. In fact, the Raid II went at one point to £290, until it got subsidised back down to around £250.

Shoei XR1000 for £199 at Helmet City :D I've been wearing one for two years and love it!
