Hi

Today my battery has died, it was on it's way out and the recent cold weather has finished it off i think.

Anyway i went to Halfrauds - it was after 5.30 and i wanted to get it fixed asap - but the battery they had was £55 and about an inch taller than the original so would not have fitted.

Never having bought a motorcycle battery before can anyone please point me in the right direction for a quick replacement?

Thanks :)

I would recommend going for a Yuasa or similar upmarket batery (batteryman will sort you out!). Also, invest in an optimate IV trickle charger - when the bike isnt in use, hook it up and it'll keep it in tip-top condition :D

Hello

Thanks for the help folks, much appriciated :)

Today i got a Yuasa (YTZ12 bs?) i was bit wary about having to add the acid to it but it all worked out ok.

The dead battery turns out to be the original, dated 2001, so it has had a good run.

Alpinestarhero - i have a Acumen Titatium charger, but i don't like to leave it plugged in unattended all the time (odd i know).

Only strange thing that i'll need to investigate tomoro is why when i now plug in the charger it beeps at me - as if the neg and pos are the wrong way round- but the battery is wired up correctly and the heated grip/battery charger wire are on the right terminals too, anyone know why this is?
