now also hates bolton, or more than likely just me :smt090

while having a test run for my knees sake i went to meet svste a short run just to get back into the swing, after a jump start in the morning after it not moving for a month,

i start on my way all is well till 10 mins away from ste's, engine dies back wheel locks , quick reactions from me (im getting good at saving back end slides)

pull over and try to restart, nothing apart from the buzz which we all have heard from purs sv's before , so battery me thinks makes sense its been stood for ages , jump start of nice passing mechanic and off i go again .

3 mins later touch of brake bike die's back wheel locks again, same proceedure stop and think, billock to it get recovery/ mechanic out (after 1hr of me trying and failing to restart the peice of carp bike

90 min wait :smt069 recovery come and suggest taking me home as battery is not chargeing when started and is reading 8-9 amp even when reved, touch lights instant death

so first i hate that ****ing *******ing naked ****ty pink barred useless ****ing ****ing peice of **** that is my wifes bike, and it hates me :reaper:
2nd im thinking recifier but could it be something else eg the battery itself or something i may have not even concidered
i expect comments from the usual suspects both helpful and **** taking :smt037

so laugh it up but be careful i am not the usually kind hearted loveable character you have come to know and love

finally naked are **** and scotish one are worse

Mulimeter time Dave, see what the reg/rec is kicking out, and stick the battery on an optimate, it'll tell you if it's knackered or not.

Cheers Mark.

Reg rec's dead, or some other part of the charging system. A knackered battery doesn't make it conk out on the move.

Can i be the first Dave after months of abuse from yourself, you should have bought a pointy. :D. Ahem! Sorry i can't be of any help with my limited mechnical knowledge though hope you get it back on the road asap. But much more important glad to hear your back on the road! And that you stayed upright when that back wheel locked. Take care.

just a thought check the fuse, my mate had the same trouble, it was rusted in place and making bad connection and his bike died like yours. also i believe bad earth would also cause this sort of trouble

ok then dave 0 bike 4
-hit by truck
-battery died twice in one day counts as 2 :P
-chain snapped
another troubles you remember?
a normal curvey shouldnt have this amount of trouble i only hear this amount of trouble from a pointy

check for corroded wires all the connectors etc and main connectors + main fuse?
What exactly isn't working, might help narrow it down?

Mate, when your chain snapped at the masacre did a rogue Haggis get in the works and start gnawing at your electrics?? Just a helpful hint from the Spearies. ( the haggis probably dropped off on the recovery vehicle, they're cunning like that)!!

Cheers

Oh and glad you are trying to be on two whels again rather than your derriere:D
