Hi guys, i am thinking about buying a sv650, it is 18 months old and has nearly 10,000 miles on the clock, would this concern any one out there, if so please give reasons as new to biking. Thanks for any help..
In my opinion a bike which has been used and maintained is better than a bike which has been sat in a garage collecting dust, then occasionally thrashed on a summers day.
I think 10k is above average for that age...but it wouldn't put me off the bike if it was in good condition and had the correct services.

Sounds like a good indicator of reliability. Just pay a bit more attention to chain, sprockets and tyres to make sure they're not in imminent need of replacement.

As long as it has proof of appropriate servicing, either a stamped service book / receipts to prove the work hasnt been done, The bike is in good nick, tyres, chain and sprocket in good condition with plenty of life left in them, then 10K in 18 months wouldnt put me off.
Mind you I put 12'000 miles on my GSXR in the first 12 months I owned it.
If your not sure what to look for, post up in your local section and somebody will no doubt volunteer to give it the once over for you.
As long as the price is right I would go for it.
Welcome the forum by the way...

Be right at that mileage, just run in. So long as it's been serviced.
Check brakes and tyres as above. I'm sure a local yokel could go and have a look with you, putting your location on your profile helps ;-)
