i agree, but this ones mine. :D i think its quite resonable to say the gsxr is established as a good sports bike and can handle riders far beyond my caperbility. i just fell in love when i saw this and had to have one. Ill be going about making it my own in time. till then im just enjoying 15 000 rpm amazing!!! :p

Good stuff!
Its wise to keep the exhaust valve clean on the underside, they get full of crap and can stick open, giving you an FI warning light on the dashboard. Not a silly idea to take it out every noe and then and clean it and grease it.
Dont be like the majority of gixxer riders and forget to maintain it, pleas please please keep that fine bike in good condition...a bit o' chain lube goes a long way, and other lubricants in the right places too
Mmmmmm gsxr, they are great bikes. My dad happily tours on his, no complaints. I'd be happy to commute around london on one, they are so light

I went from a full power SV, to a K5 750 ( the chavvy one the nice Mr Spiderman is on about above )
It scared the sh*te out of me the first time I opened the throttle hard once I had done the intial running in....
Once you get used to it, its fine, but it will take some getting used to. Just treat it with some respect and build up the throttle openings gradually and you'll get on fine with.
A fine bike, even if I do say so myself

even now, ive just taken it steady got to know the bike first and its very confidence inspiring i taken to it like a duck to water. its so smooth compared to the sv, just cant take bumps like the sv!!! :D
fizzwheel
17-10-09, 12:50 PM
It should ride the bumps better, mine definately does.
Oh and just wait till your restriction is off, and you've run it in, say hello to 10000rpm goodness ;)

My dad likes to undertake me on his 750 at silly mph in 3rd or 4th some where near the redline on full throttle.
The bike has a standard exhaust. The volume scares the living crap out of me each time he plays his "game"

Its wise to Get a topbox
Sorry Alpinestarhero, couldnt resist!
Gixxers are great though, enjoy enjoy!
Nice, as fizz says take the throttle steady when your off your restricted, when i rode my dads zx6 i twisted the throttle like i was on my sv, qaurt turn and it was still quick, but i never used it to its full potential, best bit was the brakes tho which im sure you'll notice as well.
All you need now is matching leathers.........

thoese leathers are making me feel sick, suzukis real leathers are ok tho.
manxmat, its one of the easiest bikes ive ever riden. soon as i got out on the road i felt at home. im not very big and so it suits me quite well, can get both feet on the floor. my next door neibour who has an r1 looks a little crapped on it. but i find it very comfortable. its got some adjustment in the std pegs too. hth :D

Cool cool well i'll be changing during the next 12 months once i stop spending all my time and cash in the pub. (Probably after christmas :P).
I'll have to test ride one see how i feel on it, i just don't feel 100% confident now on the sv because my riding has improved and is abit more confident on the road with it. I need better handling and brakes, and just feel rather than upgrading folks etc... on the sv i'll try a different bike.

thats awesome, its an awesome bike and i have no doubt in my mind that i am gonna get a K7 750 when im 24 as until then insurance just looks like its gonna be a joke.

Sorry, but what a load of bollox!
+1! A restricted 600, i imagine, would actualy be safer than an SV restricted...they have almost no go
but really, I think they would make a great first bike (so long as your aware you dont need to go everywhere at full throttle) because they are light and manouverable, with excellent brakes. Far less muslce required to ride

Or a 748...or a 749 or an 848
...or a daytona or a zx6r or possibly a cbr-r
ooh speed triple floats my boat too.
Dreading the day insurance becomes reasonable....I'm gonna have a nightmare deciding

hey
i turned 19 bout 3 weeks ago,
k9 750 with 3 yr ncb was 900 fully comp.
Its ok to ride with the restriction actually, because its so light its nice. like riding a small bike you have to plan alot more to make sure your in the right gear at right time etc, not tht more power wouldnt be nice.
it revs to 15 000 but above 9000 it does nothing because of the restriction but i can still hit 115 farly easy. (private runway )
went out for a ride with mates, er6 ,bandit 12 , gsxr1000 quite a sprinted ride nothing major and kept up ok so for now its ok. but ive only 3 months to go till i can take the restriction out.

Crazy, 19 with a brand new k9, fair play though. you are seriously gonna enjoy that.
I think it is the no claims and years with full licence that definetly knocks it down.
Insurance just seems to massivly drop when im 24 so i would have been riding 4 years by then. Doubt i will wait though, soon as restirction is off next sep im probably gonna buy one. Thats what loans are for hey.
Whats was the transition from the twin to the IL4 like, bet you wont really notice a serious difference until your 33bhp is off.
Jealous as f*ck :D
scottjames

zuki are doing 0% arent they, ive just started my apprenticeship and so can now afford monthly payments.
the move from twin to 4 is not a bad as i thought. first time i hit 8 and bit thou on the gsxr i thought it was going explode!!! :p cant wait to hear 15000
the engine braking is still good but the brakes are far better, they are simply amazing on the gsxr.
