Hi all

Its being a while since i being back to the good old org. Just had a good read of the http://forums.sv650.org/images/misc/paperclip.gif (http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=111#) sv650 stripped and being cleaned/polished (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=137997) post great read..

Right Well I put my K5 2005 SV 650 in for a M.O.T and it did not go so well with it failing because of the indicators flashing to fast. Without trying to annoy people here who will say just read previous questions about the indicators, I have do so and have sort of figured it out but would like to ask one question.

I got L.E.D indicators for on the front on the sv and standard indicators on the back. There are now flashing to fast. Any ideas. I have read a few posts about people who had the same problems. But i got front led indicators and standard ones on the back..

Any ideas!!

Thanks

as far as i know the legal limit for flashes is 60-120 a minute so in theory you should be ok for the MOT, you either need a relay that is designed for the LEDs or theres something to do with wiring in a resistor so that they have the same load on the circuit as a normal bulb does.

If you have LED indis on the front has someone consealed the orginal bulbs or maybe a capacitor (wrong component I know - ballast?) type thing somewhere that's blown?

(I'm assuming they worked correctly at one point)

To get them all flashing at the same rate you'd need to swap the rear indicators to LEDs and install a proper flasher unit or install some normal bulbs inline with the front led ones to restore the expected current drain.

The rear ones are standard unless the OP's up for changing them (I'd probably opt for that if it was me) I'd guess this would just **** up the rear indicators..
